From our South Texas Team Leader, Sindy Parsons at sindy@sindyparsons.com, Cupid, was rescued from a shelter, infested with fleas, even in in his feet so his hind legs were inflamed. He was on steroids and medicated bathing, daily for 7 days.
He is to be neutered this week.

Treatment for Heartworm, and his other normal vetting estimated to be at $850.00. He is very good natured and needs this treatment to save his life.

He is at Cole's Veterinary Clinic

Help is needed for little Cupid.

7 Year old "Bella" came through her bladder stone surgery with flying colors! Thanks to everyone who helped her!

Now we have several other needs and other Bichons desperately need help.

Treatment for Heartworm, and other vetting estimated to be at $850.00. He is very good natured.

And Sara Pace has brought in four more from shelters in the Chicago area.

Each of them will have vetting estimated at $650.00.

Last year in 2014, Sara and her team pulled 75 Bichons just from one of the Chicago shelters, the CACC.

We have no idea why so many Bichons are in shelters in his area in and near Chicago.

I'm so grateful that you allowed us to save their lives.

From Sara Pace at pacess4@att.net:

"Mason" is young, 1-2 years old and weighs 16 lbs. very thin. He was a stray. Needs the "works".
He is at Naperville Animal Hospital as of today.

"Violet" is young, 3-4 years old, has been totally neglected and is happy to be out of there!

This is a short video of Violet's freedom ride!

This is a short video of Violet and Mason after Sara got them back to the clinic.

"Brett" just came into rescue. He is young and estimated at 2 years.

"Romeo" is a one year old "Teddy Bear", a Bichon- Shih-Tzu Mix.
He is a doll!

So we need to raise at least $3,450.00 just for these five.

My most concern is for Cupid who is Heartworm positive.

These are just a few of the needs we have right now with more Bichons coming in from shelters and owners.

I'm getting nervous about our funds. Dale says I seem worried, and I am.

We were in the red on Monday when we paid our bills, so we do need help.

I'm believing in this scripture.

Hebrews 11:1 Faith assures us of things we expect and convinces us of the existence of things we cannot see.

Faith has brought us this far. Of that I have no doubt.

I'm here and will issue matching challenges.

All My Love, Robin

>When these folks applied to adopt, and we asked how their Bichon was killed by a car, this was their response. We hear this on an average of once a week.

(These are NOT Bichons adopted from Small Paws.)

PLEASE don't take a chance with the life of your Bichon!
We do not adopt to people who allow their dogs to run loose.

Subject: Re: Small Paws Rescue

We had him for the last five years, He is very obedient normally when we say "stay" he will stop wherever he is, so some times we are used to play with him in the yard for he loves to run around the yard in circles, during that time we did not put him on the leash, this particular day he was not on leash and did not yield to the command when he saw some dog across the road. It took off so suddenly the on coming driver did not have time to stop the car. That is how it happened.>

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
