Gem of the Day: "To succeed, you need
to find something to hold on to, something
to motivate you, something to inspire you."
~Tony Dorsett~

"Angel" had her spleen removed
(no cancer!) as well as huge bladder stones.
She recently flew to her new foster home
from Northern California to Washington State
via the not-for-profit organization, Pilots
and Paws.
The pilot gets her little headset hooked
up. How else would she be able to hear hear
him when he said, "And on your left
is the Pacific Ocean"?
"I'm such a world traveler."
Thank you to all
of the volunteer
pilots
who do this great
work!

McDreamy desperately needs your help. His
urethra was all but severed when he was hit
by a car before we rescued him from the shelter
in Arlington Texas.
His pelvic bone was broken, crushing it and
leaving it hanging by a thread.
Our surgeon had to reattach it back together.
McDreamy is still in the ER recovering from
this extensive surgical procedure where they
resected the crushed urethra by grafting
it together.
(Laymen's terms: The clipped off the crushed,
dead part of urethra tissue in the middle.
Then they sewed the two good ends together
and prayed with all they had, that it holds.)
McDreamy will be under 24 hour emergency
care through Thursday for sure. He may get
to come home on Friday and we still need
a foster home for hi within driving distance
of Oklahoma City.
We really need your help to pay his bill.
This is his story. We have these matching donation challenges
to help us to help
little McDreamy who was
hit by a car in the
Arlington Texas area.
First, we have this
generous challenge from
Sue Gellar in Texas,
for $1000.00 for little
McDreamy. Thank you
Sue!

Robin,
Just read the heart
wrenching story of
McDreamy.
Don't know if you
remember - I'm the
friend
of Sherry Swarts
that moved to Dallas
- met
you when you came
to talk to our Bichon
Club
several years ago.
I've told you about
my Star - one of
the
puppies from the
last litter that
Sherry
bred before she died.
I'm so proud, my
Star
is a finished Champion,
titled in Rally and,
by far, most importantly
- a certified Therapy
dog at Baylor Hospital.
Star's sister, Abby had to be put down on
Sunday night due to CANINE AUTOIMMUNE HEMOLYTIC ANEMIA 6 years old - tragic!!
After reading about McDreamy - I'm hoping
our challenge of $1000.00 will help save
this special guy. With his personality, he
would be a great Therapy Dog and surely honor
Abby's memory.
I'd ask anyone who
has lost a beloved
dog
or knows someone
who has - send a
donation
in their memory to
help save this special
little guy.
Sincerely,
Sue Geller>
And from Sue Hodges in Southern California,
we have this challenge for $100.00. Thank
you again, Sue!

Hi Robin,
I just told Dennis
this morning that
we needed
to donate money to
Small Paws for "Dolly
Parton's" (Abby's)birthday.
Abby turned
8 yesterday, and
we would not have
her if
it wasn't for Small
Paws and you, of
course.
So, we will issue a matching challenge for
$100.00.
Happy Birthday to
Abby,
Rosemary & Dennis>
And from Shannon Shankle and her Bichon,
Rusty, we have this challenge for up to five
$20.00 matches! That would be two hundred
dollars for McDreamy! Thank you Shannon!

$20 matching challenge
( up to five matches)
to any of you that
use a silly word or name
to tell your fluffs
to go outside to the
bathroom or when
you are walking them. Poor
little McDreamy couldn't
go pee-pee or wee-wee
even if he wanted
too! Thank god for Dr Skip.
Shannon SHANKLE and
Rusty>
This is how you can help little McDreamy.
Bless his heart and yours. All My Love, Robin

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
