If you missed our last newsletter, here it
is
Baby Murphy is only five months old. The
right side of his heart is already enlarged
from overworking.
It will cost $2000.00
for his PDA heart murmur to be repaired.
As you know, Baby Murphy in Ohio, is having
heart issues.
He was born in a commercial kennel in North
Carolina.
Our Team Leader to the Carolinas, Kathryn
Smith, arranged for his transfer to Small
Paws because she knew, that without our help,
he would most probably die.
The local vet there told us that they didn't
think this murmur was a problem and it would
probably close off by itself with time.
Oh Contraire'.
That's why we depend on the experts, Veterinary
Cardiologists, people who spend as much time
in school as it takes to become a cardiologist
for human people, (HUMAN PEOPLE? DID I JUST
SAY THAT??) to evaluate the situation and
make a treatment plan.
We flew Baby Murphy from North Carolina to
Columbus, Ohio, where he is being fostered
by Susan Geier, H.B.S.P.F.M. (Heart Baby Small Paws Foster Mama),at pp816@aol.com.
The flight to get him there was on Delta,
as that is the only airline we can use that
flies from that area to where we needed to
send Baby Murphy. This is the most expensive
flight we ever have to use.
The Delta flights out of North Carolina was
$291.00 just for the flight, not to mention
the crate and health certificate.
Then we got him right to Medvet for a consult
with Thaibinh at Medvet.
We thought we would have a little while before
he had to have the
surgery, but after seeing
the right side of
his heart, which is enlarged,
Thaibinh wants to
go in TOMORROW, Wednesday,
November 17.
Funny. THAT RAINY
DAY IS HERE.
We've done this a few times before. Yet each
time, it always feels like the first time
to me.

Hi Robin! I’d like to issue the following
challenge “Baby Murphy needs some help”,
as a Mom to a heart murmur fluff.
I will match the first ten $10.00 donations
that buy a “Baby Murphy” line, (see the "lines"
below) up to $100.00. And, to make it interesting,
if any of the ten donors can commit to contributing
$10.00 per month for ten months, I will make
a monthly matching donation. Lord knows we
need it. So, SPR folks, let’s GO!
oy, am I a cutie?
bsolutely!
eautiful pup, and so good too -
et, my little heart is fluky.
y vet says I may not live
nless they fix my heart. I’m
eally scared, but
lease, could you
elp me with a new start?
ou know I’ll be the bestest boy, that I could
ever be
ust watch me, and you’ll see!
f I could please have one more chance
o have a life, and grow
he One who loves me thanks you more
han you will ever know.
And from Claire, the Lazy Quilter, we have
this challenge WHICH WE ARE CALLING THE"
HEY! WHAT'S LYING AROUND THE HOUSE??"
challenge!
Thank you Claire!

Well, it's not much by a long shot, but because
my loving Les refuses to double check his
pockets, anything found is MINE. I think
it's fair myself.
Tatter "THE"
Tot, as he now wants
to be known since
he heard about "The
Donald" has
been busy annoying
his sister
by nibbling in her
her ear.. whoops,
was
waiting for that,
she just back pawed
him..
he'll get over it..
but these are a pair.
AS long as hubby leaves it in his pockets,
it goes into my mini bank for "just
because". So as kind of a informal challenge,
exactly how money can any one donate just
from what's laying around the house, in jars,
in the car, in the sofa, or dropped on the
floor in the laundry room. For those of you
who have you laundry, etc. sent out, tough,
I know there's a couple of places that be
raided. I do it all the time. A heart puppy
deserves a life as well as a happy one.
hugs
Claire with Tatter
& Junie
P.S. From Susan Sebring:
On, Claire’s challenge, can you ask our people
to put where their “what’s lying around the
house” came from, in the "comments/special instructions"
when they make their donations online? I’ll make a list of them for you to post
in the next newsletter.
It might be kind
of fun to share that
one!>
So those are our challenges for Baby Murphy.
Thank You God. Thank You for sending these
Bichons to us. Bichons that others may see
as "imperfect."
Thank you for providing the funds needed
to care for them.
Thank you for providing knowledgeable Dogtors
that are able to fix their hearts, while
loving foster parents work on fixing their
little minds. (The Bichon's minds, not the
foster parent's.)
And most of all Lord God, thank You for this
family of people from all walks of life,
from all over Your beautiful world, who come
together to help. To pray. To love.
We thank You.
In Your Name, Amen.

"Here's That
Rainy Day"
MAYBE I should have
saved
Those leftover dreams
Funny
But here's that rainy
day
Here's that rainy
day
They told me about
And I laughed at
the thought
That it might turn
out this way
Where is that worn
out wish
That I threw aside
After it brought
my love so near
Funny how love becomes
A cold rainy day
Funny
That rainy day is
here
It's funny
How love becomes
A cold rainy day

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
