If you missed our last newsletter, here it
is
Well, according to our "open rate"
from Constant Contact who sends these newsletters
out to you all, it's almost like most of
you still aren't back to your computers.
We are getting several hundreds of "Out
of office" replies. ACK.
We did get these three challenges for little
Chester, but unless something huge changes
I don't think we are going to be able to
keep this appt tomorrow.
I'm just not sure what to do here. I mean
I really am not sure what to do here.
This is why we need the surgery. Remember,
these are juvenile cataracts which are completely
different than old age cataracts in Bichons.
Chester is just three years old.

Robin –

Here is a photo of Chester. Dr. Gwin checked
his eyes and found a mature cataract in the
right eye and an immature cataract in the
left eye. His recommendation is to leave
the left eye alone for now because it may
take months to years for that one to develop
fully. But he recommends immediate surgery
on the right eye since these little Bichons
are prone to retinal detachment. His estimate
for the surgery (Including a nice discount)
is $1,900. This includes the surgery and
3 months of post-op visits. I went ahead
and scheduled him for surgery in Oklahoma
City on Tuesday, 11/30 with a follow-up in
Tulsa the next day, 12/1. These appointments
may be cancelled or changed depending on
what you advise. At this point, I’m planning
to take him to OKC and will keep him at my
house

Hi Robin,
My little Snow ( former SPR Snowflake) has
been at the vets office more than home lately.
She started out with a badly ulcerated eye,
as soon as that was better she decided that
rocks were very tasty. She had surgery 2
weeks ago today to remove the rocks from
her tummy. She felt terrible yesterday so
went to the emergency vet where x-rays showed
she had some disc problems in her back. She
says she knows what it's like to hurt and
feel really bad, but she knows she has a
Mommy to take care of her. She wants to issue
a $25 challenge to other good Mommies to
help these little ones that don't feel so
good so that they can find a forever Mom
and Dad too. She said she wishes it was more,
but Mom spent all the money on her!
Terri Halligan and
Snow>
I know there is an
answer out there. I'm
being still and listening.
All My Love, Robin

Hey Robin,
I want to add my
Charlie to the list
of prayer
requests in your
next newsletter.
This coming
Monday, December
6, he is going to
have his
second bladder stone
surgery and may also
have to have a urethrostomy.
I hate that
his bladder stones
have come back and
I know
he’ll have an uncomfortable
recovery period.
If you know Charlie
you know he’s always
a happy boy and I
look forward to him
feeling
better soon. Thanks
in advance for the
prayers!

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
