We have seven new rescues in the Chicago
area, recently rescued from euthanasia from
area shelters.
We are calling them
"The Shoppers"
because they will
be expensive.
The average cost to fully vet and quarantine
a rescued Bichon in this area is for between
$600.00-$800.00 each.
That will be costing
around $6000.00 before
it is all said and
done.
And to start it all off, we have a lovely
challenge from our own Small Paws Rescue
Blanketeers, in honor of Maggie Duffy, one
of our Blanketeers who recently passed away.

Online Adoption Application
Tiffany
This is Tiffany. She is 9 lbs. of energy!
She was surrendered (reason unknown and age
not on paperwork). She is estimated at 10
months old. She had her exam and was found
to be in perfect health. The doctor did not
see a spay scar, so will need spay, vaccinations
and quarantine for 10 days. She was HW negative.
She also has a really cute under bite.
TIFANNY HAS A LOCAL FOSTER HOME!

Bloomingdale
This is Bloomingdale! He was examined by
the vet today. He is estimated at 6 months
old. His heartworm was negative. He is was
a owner surrender (unknown reason). He is
already neutered and has baby teeth, so NO
dental needed. He will need a 10 day quarantine.
He and Tiffany were romping around at the
vet's office having a great time.
Bloomingdale has been ADOPTED!

Bergdorf
This is Bergdorf. He was turned into the
shelter with 7 other dogs. We think "backyard
breeder". He was scheduled to be euthanized
because he was also scared to death in the
shelter and deemed not adoptable. He is estimated
at 2 yrs old. He was very scared but when
we had him out of his crate in the exam room
his little tail was wagging:) He will need
a dental, neuter, vaccinations and quarantine.
Heartworm was negative.
Bergdorf HAS A FOSTER HOME!

Sak's
This is Sak's Small Paws. He was a stray
that was not reclaimed. He would have been
euthanized because he was terrified at the
shelter and felt not to be adoptable. He
actually sat on Christy's lap and kissed
her all the way to the animal hospital. He
also did great with the other dogs in the
exam room. He didn't even mind when Tiffany
jumped on top of him and grabbed him by the
ears:) He will need dental, neuter, vaccinations,
and 10 day quarantine. He was HW negative.
Sak's HAS A FOSTER HOME!

Jimmy Choo
This is Jimmy Choo. Doc said he is 1-2 yrs
old. He was rescued from another high kill
shelter. He became Jimmy Choo Small Paws
today. He is all puppy! The doctor estimated
him at 1-1.5 yrs old. He will need to be
neutered, vaccinated, HW and fecal test,
plus 10 day quarantine. Jimmy, Chanel and
Juicy all did great together.
Jimmy Choo HAS A
FOSTER HOME!
Chanel and Juicy Couture, a bonded pair.
They are in need
of a foster home near Chicago.
Volunteer Foster
Application
From Sara Pace: I picked up these two girls
from the shelter today. Chanel is on my right
and Juicy is on my left. The doctor estimated
Chanel at 1-2 yrs old and Juicy at around
1.5-2 yrs old. They are bonded.
Chanel is about 20 lbs and Juicy is 13 lbs.
They both need spay, vaccinations and 10
day quarantine, plus HW and fecal test. They
are both very sweet girls and shelter had
them crated together when I picked them up.
We got a lot of kisses
today!
So you can see that Sara Pace and her IL.
Team has been busy!
These seven Bichons are all Bichons that
were on the list for euthanasia had we not
come for them.
That's why our work
is so very important.
It's work that we
can't do without you!
And now, the Blanketeer's have this heartfelt
challenge for $500.00.
Is there anyone who
can put something towards
that challenge for
the Small Paws Rescue
Shoppers?

Pressnall!
Congratulations Robin on your new addition
to your family! They are all just as beautiful
& precious as can be!
I have not been around much lately. I have
been ill since 12-31-2011. I've been on several
rounds of antibiotics. These doctors also
put me on three different rounds of prednisone
tapers. Being a steroid, prednisone
really messes up my blood sugar levels. It
is only given out as a last resort for a
diabetic. I have practically been living
in bed for the last four
months.
I am very upset about this turn of events
in my life. I would like to ask you if you
could please put me on the prayer list of
the Mighty Small Paws Warriors. I am alone
& shut in here all by myself with my
two babies,
Cassie & Roxy. (Roxy is a rescue from
last November.)
Thank You for everything that you do for
the little bichons everywhere.
Sincerely,
Dory Raymond

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
