Her case has become an official animal cruelty case. She is heartworm positive. These are our last matching challenges for Sophie Rose, below.

Subject: My Mother's day Challenge to All Team Leaders

In honor of Mother's Day I would like to challenge all Team Leaders to take a look at their family tree.

Since becoming team leader for Florida the following have been added to my family tree and I have become Mother to all:

70 dogs that have been rescued, fostered, and now in forever homes

3 dogs that we couldn't save and now at the Bridge watching over us.

9 dogs transferred to other states.

7 dogs I have personally adopted and became mommy to (2 are now at the bridge with the 3 above)

128 truly wonderful, marvelous, caring volunteers

1 special lady that has blessed me by being my co-team leader

total 218

I am donating $2 for each of the above for a total of $436.00

And I am going to round it up for all the staff and support team at SPR to make it and even $500.00

So look deep into your heart and see if your family hasn't grown since joining SPR and give to help all that need it.

And lastly, we have this beautiful, poetic challenge from Deb Snider in Norman, Oklahoma. Deb will match up to $500.00! Thank you Deb! This is just beautiful!

Please issue the attached verse/challenge for Sophia Rose. I will match $100 for each of the five stanzas, up to a total of $500. 00. Go, Sophie Rose! We are with you, always.

I come to you
Your little girl
I am Sophia Rose
The gracious one
Paw in Hand

Life has not been
All that a dog
Might dream
was lost
Or never came

Here I am
Survived this far
Please help me if you can
I still have a way to go
to health, and life, again

My name means this
"Sophia" is wise
And "Rose" is of the flower
I'm just a simple, little girl
But I so need your power

To help me get well again
And be the flower I should
There is nothing more I ask
than to feel safe, and good.
Could you walk with me?>

Thank you all so much for the notes about Sophia Rose. After her heartworm treatment, she should be ready for adoption in about two months.

All My Love, Robin

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
