Gem of the Day: "Begin somewhere. You cannot build a reputation
on what you intend to do. "
~ Liz Smith ~

7 month old "Macy" has a grade
SIX out of a possible SIX heart murmur. We
have her in Tulsa, OK. now, but we need to
get her flown to Columbus, Ohio, as soon
as possible. Macy was an owner surrender
after having been adopted from a shelter
in Southeastern MO.
She had been in a
commercial kennel
before
that.
This isn't our first rodeo. We have done
this many times. The still, small, voice inside me is telling
me she is already living on borrowed time.
Discounted cost to repair her heart murmur will run right at $2000.00 at MedVet in
Worthington, Ohio, if we can get her there
and raise funds for her.
World renown cardiologist, Dr. Thaibinh Nguyenba, would be doing her surgery.
Folks, I couldn't make this stuff up if I
wanted to. There's more.
No wonder he hurts. Click here to see a short movie of little
Munchkin.
Three year old "Munchkin" has both
a torn ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) AND a Grade 5 out of 5 Luxating Patella. He is in pain. He needs surgery in OKC ,
where he is being fostered. The surgery would
be done by Dr. Skip Tangner at the Veterinary Surgical Center in OKC, as soon as we can raise the funding.
Discounted cost of torn ACL surgery, which
is the most crucial of his two surgeries
and is the one needing to be done first,
is $1087.00.

First, I wanted to let you all know that
one of our long time supporters passed away,
unexpectedly, last week. Thank you to Sara
O Neill for letting us know.
It was Rose Sehr from Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Rose was 80 years old.
Rose and her husband
Norman, loved Small
Paws. He passed away
in 2005.
This is her obituary.

guest book, click here, and scroll down to March 22. When you see
her name click on

the family.
Godspeed, Rose!
Ok, we have a double
trouble situation going
on.
It's not raining. It's not just just pouring.
It's a dadgummed flood.
The waters are rising
and these two precious
Bichons need to get
to dry land and fast.
This need is priority
one."

I would like to issue
a challenge for $25.00.
Wish I could do more.
Sophie, Julie and myself are managing to
get by since my husband, George, passed
on Feb. 19th. Tons of paper work keep me
busy all day long.
Some of our friends & family advised
me that they have sent in donations
to SPR in George' memory. I know he would
want it used t help these little ones.

Subject: prayer requests to pass on
Hey Sara,
Have a few prayer requests that I ask that
you pass on because I know that there is
power in prayer. One is our 7 year old Bichon,
Skeeter is going to see any eye specialist
on Tuesday in Indianapolis. For some unknown
reason he lost his eye sight suddenly in
his (L) eye, on Wednesday due to uveitis.
We are going to see what else can be done
to keep him from losing sight in the other
eye plus see what else can be done for him.
The second one is our 13 year old Bichon
Buddy is going to have surgery Thursday for
a cancer lesion on his leg. Any prayers would
be appreciated since these little four legged
dogs (people) are like our children. I am
sure that everyone else that has animals
knows exactly what I am talking about.
Thanks for passing this along.

on Peaches, my bichon.

the
truth. Thanks for
all the prayers.>

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
