Gem of the Day: "May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always
at your back,
May the sun shine
warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft
upon your fields
and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you
in the palm of His
hand.

Dolly has bladder stones, kidney stones,
and some teeth that
need to be pulled.
Triple threat and she is in pain.
Her former owner said:
"she still has
gotten more bladder
stones,
as well as kidney
stones.
I cannot afford the surgery, and the vet
says it will be better for her if she had
it done before she has symptoms, such as
blood in the urine. Dolly is about 4 and
a half now, My dad has died, my husband has
stage 4 breast cancer, and I don't have the
emotional or physical energy to care for
her anymore. I'd like to find a home for
her where the people enjoy her and can get
her the treatment she needs. If I can't find
a home for her I will need to put her down
when she starts showing symptoms."

" The estimate I am getting from my
vet which gives the best discounts is between
$848.51 and $902.11.
This includes all
pre-op work-up including
x-rays, stone removal
of bladder and kidney,
and a dental cleaning.
Maureen ( Dolly's foster Mom) mentioned the
other night that Dolly was starting to show
signs of pain.
We have the following matching donation challenges
for little Dolly.
I'd like to schedule
her surgery as soon
as possible.
This is what bladder stones look like, depending
on which kind of stones they are.

First, from our friend in Southern California,
we have this challenge
from Sue Hodges. Thank
you again, Sue!

Robin
I want to issue a $100 challenge for Dolly.
The number has got to be in the hundreds
the Bichons you have rescued from dire physical
suffering, not to mention the thousands that
present themselves in their normal unkempt
condition requiring a total shave down. I
don't know how you do it. The mental and
monetary needs are always there, and Robin
and her volunteers pop up again. Thank God
we have you. Couldn't do it without you.
Don't be thinking about going anywhere. You
have been called by The Man. We need you.
Thank you very much and the many Bichons
you rescue like Dolly also thank you.
Jim Jorgensen>
And from the Villagessss,
Florida's Friendliest
Home Town, we have
a challenge for $50.00
from Lynne McGibney
at lmcgib@comcast.net
for $50.00. Thank
you Lynne!
Thank you all for
helping this little
girl!

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
