Gem of the Day: "Too often we underestimate the power
of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening
ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest
act of caring, all of which have the potential
to turn a life around."

If you missed our last newsletter, here it is
As you know, we have THREE heartworm positive
Bichons in rescue
right now, in South Texas.
What is Heartworm Disease?
The estimate for heartworm treatment in this
area is right around $500.00 each.
That's $1500.00 needed just for heartworm
treatment alone for these three boys.
Juno, Samson, and Zeke, all have heartworm disease, which is fatal left untreated.

Samson is heartworm positive.

Zeke is heartworm positive.
Juno is heartworm positive.
We have raised less than $150.00 so far,
when $1500.00 is needed.
We have these matching
challenges for you
this morning!
First from Sue Hodges, in Southern California,
we have this matching donation challenge
for $100.00. Thank you Sue, again! Is there
anyone who can match sue for the "Dog
Days of Summer" challenge?

AND CHALLENGE
I'd like to submit
a "$10 for each
dog
you own donation
challenge" for
the
"heartworm"
dogs we have coming
in. I'm giving $10
for each of my three
dogs

This is really getting
serious. We just
can't
keep taking them
from kill shelters
if we
can't afford to treat
them for diseases
that
will prove to be
fatal without treatment.
Thank you all in
advance. These little
ones
need you. All My
Love, Robin

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
