Welcome! We hope

about
the Bichons and the
people who love them!
If you missed our last newsletter, here it is.
This is an update about our online auction
and about little two year old Blitzer, who has the inherited
condition of juvenile cataracts.
First of all, about our Small Paws Rescue Spring Online Auction.
Folks, the Bichons that we rescue count on
the auctions that we have online, to assist
with their medical bills.
Normally, we can
count on an average
of about
$12, 500.00 from
these auctions that
we hold.
One of our Board of Trustees, Donna Brown
at Daisy1027@aol.com, puts literally hundreds
of volunteer hours into producing these auctions,
preparing the billing, and then shipping
many of these items out, herself.
I try not to do much fundraising during the
auction, and we also close our Small Paws
Ebay and our Online E-Store, to try to gain
maximum benefits of having the auction.
When we close these
other venues, after we
pay the auction company
and pay for shipping,
well, our auction
just needs a little help
right now!
There are only three days left.
If our auction were
to close right now, 31%
of the items don't
have a bid and the total
is at $5,629.
So we are way behind.
Come and shop! Please!
Do it for the Bichons!

Next, we have this update on little Blitzer!

2 year old "Blitzer."
Blitzer is getting his cataract surgery on
both eyes, thanks
to you!
And also thanks to Small Pawser, and Havanese
Rescuer, Jenny French.
You see, Jenny knows of an eye clinic in
Cary, North Carolina that has offered to
do both of Blitzer's eyes for nearly $1000.00
less than our previous estimate, here in
Tulsa.
Tomorrow morning,
Blitzer will fly to Raleigh
N.C. where he will
be fostered by one of
our volunteers, who
Interned at this same
veterinary eye clinic.
Robert V. English,
DVM, PhD.
Board Certified
Veterinary Ophthalmologist
So this really has
turned out to be
a God
Thing!
Thank you all so
very much and thank you
Jenny, for helping
little Blitzer!
Ok, I'm not going
to keep you so that you
have more time to
shop and bid!
Thank you in advance
for your support
of
this magnificent
obsession we call
Small
Paws Rescue.
All My Love, Robin

From: rogerska@whitman.edu
Hi Robin,
I would like to ask
for prayers for my
little
girl Delphi. I adopted
her from Small Paws
6 years ago and she
has
been a joy. In January
of
2010 she was diagnosed
with a disease called
Intestinal
Lymphangiectasia.
We've been able to
manage
the disease with
medication
and diet, but she's
had a relapse and
is
a very sick little
girl. My
heart is aching to
see her so sick.
I would
appreciate any prayers
offered for her recovery.
Thank you,
Kathy Rogers

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
