Gem of the Day: "The seconds are ticking down to the end of the game. The pass comes to me to take the shot. Yes. I have my opponent right where I want them. Shot taken. Scores. End of Game.
That is how we should treat every day."
~ Robert Holbrook~

Robin: All of this is heartbreaking. You get the calls from all over the place, you deal with all the situations, calm hysterical people down, then have to come to us to raise money, I get the feeling that you choose your words
carefully so we are not completely horrified and run from the computer. With that please put out another $100 challenge, fellow New Yorkers where are you?? Please dig deep and help. Thanking everyone in advance,
Deborah and Boris>

And from our friend in Southern California, Sue Hodges, we have this challenge. Thank you Sue, so much.

Hi Robin,
In honor of the incredible spirit of my Mini, my very blind rascal of an SPR rescue, please issue a challenge for $25 hoping it will be multiplied many times over.

Min has been blind for at least 4 years, looks just like Blitzer, and has more spunk and courage than a lot of seeing people I know! People are shocked when they find out he's totally blind. He's a joy. Love, S>

And we have this from the voice of experience:

Subject: BLITZER
Date: 6/3/2011 2:20:02 P.M. Central Daylight Time
From: sandy@zirkel.us

DEAR ROBIN, SO SORRY ABOUT LITTLE BLITZER. WE MUST SOMEHOW GET HIM THIS OPERATION FOR HIS CATARACTS, HE IS WAY TO YOUNG TO BE BLIND THE REST OF HIS LITTLE LOVABLE LIFE. MY LITTLE ANGLE LITTLE SANDY HAD 2 CATARACTS AT THE AGE OF 15 YRS OLD. I HAD THIS OPERATION FOR HER AND SHE WAS ABLE TO LIVE THE REST OF HER LIFE (ANOTHER 5 YEARS) BEING ABLE TO SEE AND DO HER BICHONS BLITZES. I 'LL CHALLENGE ANY ONE OUT THERE WITH A BIG BICHON HEART $100.00 , BUT PLEASE TAKE IT OUT OF MY CARD ON FILE. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS PLEASE LET ME KNOW, HE CAN'T BE BLIND FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. ALL MY PRAYERS MOMMA LOVGREN >

Those are our challenges. Thanks everyone for helping this poor little guy, Blitzer.

All My Love, Robin

P.S. For those of you who are asking, here is an update on our newest family member, little Reagan Pressnall and a short video.

Click here to see a short video of Reagan, taken last night, doing the Bichon wave. The commotion you see is him "play attacking" the camera.
It may take a moment to load.
He is a little corker!

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
