Gem of the Day: "This is a story about four people named Everybody,
Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an
important job to be done and Everybody was
sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could
have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody
got upset about that, because it was Everybody’s
job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it,
but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't’t
do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed
Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could
have."

If you missed our last newsletter, here it is.
Folks, I don't know if everyone is on vacation
or what, but we only raised $260.00 of the
needed $2700.00 for little Blitzer's juvenile
cataracts removal eye surgery.
I know it may not
seem to be important,
but
it is.

Untreated juvenile cataracts look like this.
At this stage in a dog's life, they are not
surgically correctable. The dog in the picture
is not only blind, but also suffers from
a painful condition known as glaucoma, and
must have eye drops the rest of her life.
Two year old Blitzer has this inherited condition
of juvenile cataracts.

2 year old "Blitzer"
"Blitzer" loves everyone and everything!
"Blitzer" is mostly blind already.
We have this matching donation challenge
for him. Thank you Kathryn Smith, our Team
Leader to the Carolinas.

than
any dog I've ever

KinNC>
If we can't raise
funds for this boy, we'll
have to see about
placing him as a blind
dog with special
needs who will require meds
for the rest of his
life.
Right now, he is
in boarding, awaiting surgery.
Can we give this baby the gift of a pain
free life for the next 10-14 years, much
less the gift of sight?
If we can't raise
funds for him today, I
don't know what else
to do for him.
It's that serious.
Let me know what
you want us to do for little
11 pound, 2 year
old Blitzer.
All My Love, Robin

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
