If you missed our last newsletter, here it is
I don't know if even one of you is online
on a Saturday evening but I wanted to thank
you all for providing the emergency bladder
stone surgery for little "Abby",
near Ft. Worth Texas, yesterday afternoon.
I also want to introduce you to her, now
that we have a picture.

Is Abby a doll or what?
Abby had the bladder stone removal surgery
and she went home
with Small Pawser Janet
Warren, earlier this
afternoon.
Thank you all for
helping her!
Now, we have another medical emergency, this
time happening in Scottsdale, AZ.

"Miracle" was seen being thrown
from a moving car in AZ. She is alive.
Thus, the name. See

Please add "Miracle"
to our Arizona
Chart. We pulled
her from the County
Pound today and took
her straight to Aztec
Animal Hospital in
Scottsdale for
immediate medical care. Buffy was thrown
out of a moving car this past
Tuesday in Tempe, AZ. A young College student
went to the rescue and took
her to the County Pound as he really didn't
know what to do. He was not
able to get the license plate number of the
car for possible prosecution.
The County insisted
on keeping her for
the
72 hold period that
is invoked on
stray dogs. Would not release her as a "medical
emergency" to me. I do not
believe she was getting any pain meds or
antibiotics. I was told that since
their Vet noted the wounds were healing.
They felt they needed to hold her
for the full 72 hours. Since no one from
the general public showed up today
to adopt her, they finally released her to
Small Paws before putting her on
the "bad list".
Today's X-ray results showed no fractures
in her head (amazing!) and a very large amount
of soft tissue swelling in her back hip/tail
area, and of course, major clean out of the
wounded areas.
Miracle will need
in addition to today's
visit; a dental,
spay, quarantine
boarding, vaccinations, and a blood test.
Total will be in the 700.00
range, I know it is the weekend, but I am
hoping our Small Paws Warriors
and help.
Thanks..

Yesterday Sue Hodges and Carole Fedorovich,
Tennessee Tommy's Mom, ( if you haven't yet read this amazing
story about the power of prayer, read it.
I believe it will bless your heart!) both
issued matching challenges and told me to
use them for the next emergency, so here
they are.
I won't be here tonight
to issue more challenges,
but we are issuing
these two.
Remember, Abby is funded but little Miracle
isn't yet.
From Sue Hodges in Southern California. Thank
you Sue!

"Tennessee" Tommy and I wish to issue a 50.00 challenge for those
dear 90-year-old folks who must give up their
bichon with the bladder stone. That little
bichon is in pain. Please help her whether
it is with my 50. challenge or anything you
can spare. You will feel better for it! And,
hopefully soon she will feel better too!
Sincerely

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
