"Miracle" and her Dogtor, Dr. Florez.
This is our little "Miracle" and
Dr. Florez. Miracle has improved so much,
first from her injuries sustained from being thrown
out of a car and then she testing positive for distemper.
She is a little sweetheart, too. Thanks to
all of you, little
Miracle just went

Thank you all for helping her and for praying

Thank you for coming through for little 14
year old Kodi. We have him in rescue, now,
and are getting ready to do his dental, pull
his rotten teefies, and to remove those two
benign growths.
Thank you all for
coming through for
this
precious older guy
with a lot of love
yet
to give.
We have another owner surrender who needs
to come into rescue,
but we can't take
him
in until we have
a foster home for
him.
The reason is that
he is diabetic and
he
can't be left at
a vet's office unattended
at night. This is
urgent.
How To Become a Much

He is currently located
in KY. We need to
find someone within
driving distance.
The owner is 86 years old and his daughter
has contacted us.

She says: "According to the Bichon standard
he is very correct. Daddy has his hair really
short but he has a beautiful coat when it
is grown out. He is from a very reputable
show breeder. "

Dear Robin and All
of Small Paws,
Five years ago I
wrote to ask you
for prayers
from the Small Paws
Mighty Prayer Warriors
because I had stage
four cancer in my
abdomen,
and all of you came
through! I made it
through
several months of
chemotherapy and
have had
no sign of the cancer
for five years. Just
as I was preparing
to celebrate this
achievement,
I became very sick
and was taken to
the ER
then admitted to
ICU because I nearly
stopped
breathing. I regained
consciousness 3 days
later only to find
out that I have a
large
mass in my left kidney
and the only thing
they can do is remove
the kidney. The good
news is, like most
of us, I have another
kidney. The not so
good news is that
it is
not in good shape,
and may not be able
to
do the job for the
long haul. I am a
very
poor surgical risk
and I have been working
hard to build up
my strength to withstand
the procedure, however,
I am once more asking
for your prayers
to help me through.
My remaining
kidney could use
a prayer or two that
it
can continue to do
the job when the
bad one
is gone. My surgery
will happen on July
20th,
next Wednesday. You
folks helped me five
years ago and I am
praying that you
all will
do it again. Five
years is a pretty
good
record to beat!
Thank you for all
you all do for Small
Paws
and the fluffs. My
husband and my 5
fluffs
send their thanks
as well.
Love to all of you,
Jeri Danielsen>

Subject: Patty -
need your prayers
From: njlakehouse@gmail.com
To: joanneraus@hotmail.com
Hi Joanne,
I just wanted to share with you that Patti
was attacked and mauled by a 2 yo pitbull
mix yesterday. He got out of his fenced in
yard and attacked her. She is currently in
stable condition and we expect her to pull
through -- if she doesn't get sepsis or go
back into shock. The doc says that if she
does well in the next 24 hours she will make
it. As you know she is small at only 13 lbs,
has one functioning kidney, and as timid
as you can imagine. Her back has severe deep
lacerations and puncture wounds. She also
got severely bitten and has puncture wounds
in her private areas. We will know if she
is out of the woods tomorrow. The vet is
watching her closely, and she is on 3 antibiotics
and lots of pain meds. I am hopeful that
she will come home.
As you know, I adopted Patti through SPR.
I'm devastated; as I wasn't' even there when
it happened. My dog walker was walking her.
The dog that bit her was returned to the
shelter.
Please ask for Robin
to send a note out
asking
for prayers. I would
really appreciate
that.

we love you. We are so very sorry for the
loss of your precious little Mischa.
Foster's Little Mischa
April 23, 1995 -
July 12, 2011
Mischa was our first Bichon Frise and dog
kid who we bought at 8 wks old from what
we quickly realized was a puppymill. She
introduced us to the wonderful Bichon Frise
breed and to Small Paws Rescue. What a journey
it has been. At 5 months she was diagnosed
with severe hip and knee issues but developed
very muscular legs so never had to have surgery.
Then when she was spayed, we believe she
was given too much pain medication (vet said
it should have taken out a horse but didn't
phase her) and she came home a very aggressive
dog. She was our child and we quickly learned
the signs and loved her just the same. Through
the years, we also rescued and added Lily
Shih Tzu, and bichons, Boudreaux, Saphie and Shelby to our family. Last year, Mischa
developed kidney failure and in Feb, 2011,
she went into congestive heart failure. She
was such a fighter that miraculously she
survived heart failure but the kidney failure
finally took over her little body. We had
to let her go on Tues, July 12th surrounded
by Andy and me and our wonderful vet family.
She may be gone but she will never be forgotten
and has taken a huge piece of our heart.
Please pray that one day we will be able
to again smile at her many memories and laugh
at her antics. I know she and Saphie are now running through the clouds of heaven.
Godspeed Mischa,
Loved by Lori/Andy
Foster,
and Lily, Boudreaux,
Shelby

News from The Boscos
On July 14 at 9:15 pm was the saddest for
us. As I sat in our vets office cuddling
the sweetest dog on this and any other planet
our Bear took his final breath. He slipped
the bonds of his old body and headed to the
Rainbow Bridge. We adopted Bear from SPR
Oct of 2001. Bear was my heart dog and I
my heart is broken. He was loving, sweet,
gentle and wonderful old gentleman. He waited
in the wings until I could care for all the
other fluffs in need and then quietly slipped
over to me and would look up with those deep
beautiful eyes as if to say; my turn Mom?
It was his turn to be cuddled.
Thanks for rescuing
him. I am such a
better
person for being
given the opportunity
to
be his family!! My
memory is long and
I have
so many precious
memories of Bear
that I
am sure in time I
WILL smile again
as I think
of all the wonderful
times that we spent
with Bear. Please
say a few prayers
for us
for comfort. Thanks.

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
