If you missed our last newsletter, here it is
I wanted to let you know more about the Kodi
situation.
I called and spoke to the owner last night,
trying to see if there was any other outlet
for her besides surrendering 13 year old
Kodi to rescue.
The cheapest vet estimate she could find
was for $1000.00 for a dental with several
extractions, and removal of two benign growths.
I asked if there were any family members
who could help.
I asked if they could
afford $20.00 a month,
if they could be
approved for a Care Credit
Card.
She told me that
they can not afford
diapers
and that there is
no way that they
can keep
him as he ages and
needs more and more
in
the way of medical
care.
They are already living with her parents
and up to their necks in debt.
It's not just this
one dental and removal
of these benign tumors.
People are hurting
everywhere, and I know
that some of you
all are hurting as well.
We have had only
$25.00 come through so far
for Kodi.
I know it's summer and people are away and
that he is 13.
But I also know that
he may have several
good years left.
We just got this
from one of our members.
Brenda, thank you for loving Gigi so very
much. She had a wonderful life with you.
Our prayers are with you and your family.

It is with a very
heavy heart that
I share
with you that we
have lost our beloved
Gigi.
She passed peacefully
yesterday morning,
07/11/11. We adopted
her 8 years ago from
Small Paws and she
just turned 19 this
past
February. She was
a joy and will join
our
other babies that
we have lost, Oksana
(one
of the Skater pups)
and Baby, the one
that
started our journey
with Small Paws.
It doesn’t
get any easier. My
heart goes out to
the
babies that need
fostering or adoption.
I
just thought you’d
like to know. RIP
Gigi.

We do have these three matching challenges
for Kodi.
Is there anyone who
can match one of them
maybe?
From Barbe Von Netzer
in OKC, we have this
challenge. Thank
you Barbe!

Rob, I can't imagine how difficult it is
to do what you do. I am issuing a matching
challenge for this present situation of $25/
dog and I have 3 so that's $75. If anyone
can match it dog for dog, I encourage them
to do so. Thanks, love and appreciate you,
Barbe( and Gracey, Annie and Mattie Mae.>
And LIVE from Manhattan in New York City,
Deborah Berger and her Bichon, Boris, want
to issue this challenge, Thank you so much,
Deborah.

Robin. I look at
my senior dog Norma,
a shi
tzu who was a service
dog for over 10 years
and her health is
sketchy. My heart
aches
for Kodi and all
of the others who
trusted
us to advocate and
treat them with the
dignity
they deserve, and
obviously didnt get.
With that please
issue a $100.00
challenge from Boris for those who need our
help so desperately. Deborah>
And from Sue Hodges in Southern California
we have this challenge. Thank you, again,
Sue.

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
