Dear Miss Robin,
I never met you in person. I never had the
chance to be held in your arms and get a
hug or a pat on the head. I never had the
chance to give you a few of my kisses and
they are sweet kisses if I must say so myself.
According to my mom, that could possibly
happen one day. Don't worry. I will not become
a rescue. My mommy could never part with
me but she did promise to try to take me
to your next Bichon bash for our vacation.
That is not why I am writing to you Miss
Robin. I'm writing because my mommy gave
me permission to do something special so
I better get to it!
My name is Daisy and boy oh boy, I have a
surprise for you! I would like to give you
a very special dress made in the memory of
Chris Wierer who left us so suddenly on January
5th.
I know how much Auntie Chris loved her Bichon
babies and how much she loved Small Paws
for all the good it does for so many innocent
and helpless Bichons.

Auntie Chris loved all of God's creatures
so me and mommy found it fitting to make
this design on a dress in memory of her.
If you can't tell from the pictures, it's
Noah's Ark.

It is smocked and
it even has a petticoat
in the dress!
The dress will fit a furry girl of a medium
size. Her neck should be between 14 and 16
inches. Her chest can be between 18 and 21
inches and her top line can be between 15
to 18 inches to fit her nicely.
Rather than Velcro,
the dress closes
with
snaps.
I know there are
a lot of furry boys
and
girls in need of
help right now. They
deserve
the chance to have
the great love and
care
so many of us are
blessed with.
I hope my gift will bring in money to help
these sweet babies that just don't know how
lucky they are yet. I trust you will make
sure it goes towards something important
like that.
I'm also sure this one of a kind dress will
be a treasure to whoever gets it and I know
Chris will make a star in the sky twinkle
extra bright with delight. Hey! I made a
rhyme!!
Thank you Miss Robin
for everything that
you and Small Paws
does.
Luv, Daisy Flynn>
Thank you so very much for this work of art,
Sally! Let the bidding
begin!
Next, we have these
two sets of bonded pairs,
in boarding, at our
Tulsa clinic and though
they don't look like
Bichons, they have Bichons
somewhere in their
recent history!
We desperately need a foster home for each
of these young bonded pairs who will give
someone many years of love and enjoyment!
We will pay to fly them both to an approved
SPR foster home, or they are ready to be
adopted to an approved forever home!

A
Bichon from Small
Paws Rescue

Ok. I can explain why we have 2 year old
Travis and his litter-mate, Nancy. I know
he isn't a Bichon. I mean, not exactly. It's
my fault.
This was the first
picture I saw of him in
an Austin, TX shelter.
He was sick and so was his sister. From his
first picture he looked as if he might be
a Bichon mix, and he sure looked as if he
needed us as his next stop was due to be
the morgue, if you get my drift.

Now they are both
well and totally
vetted
and out of nowhere
they started growing
this
wild fur and look
to be more like Bichonawannabe's.
HA!
It's my fault. I did it. I told Glennda Bruce,
our Team Leader to South Texas to pull them
both, so, we have them now.
Man, monkey or mouse,
they are ours and
they
need a foster home.
They are great with
other dogs and with
kids.
Sometimes, some of
our rescues can't
go to
homes with kids.
Sometimes the little
puppy
mill rescues are
just too scared of
sudden
movements and sounds.
This pair can go
to a home with kids!
They love everyone
and everything!
What kind of mix are they?
WHAT KIND OF MIX WOULD YOU LIKE THEM TO BE??!
HELP AND WORK WITH
ME HERE! HA!

And we still have Lilo ( 3 year old female)
and Stich, (3 year old male) whose litter
we affectionately named "The Holsteins."
They came back to us after their adopted
owners lost their jobs due to the economy.
they love other dogs and kids as well!
Bonnie Ferguson and I delivered this litter
in at our Tulsa clinic and their Mama IS
a Bichon. We were there when they popped
their little heads out. We suspect their
Daddy was a Shih-Tzu but their Mama was so
upset and would only say that she never wanted
to SEE him again, so this is all we know.
When they don't wanna
talk about it, what
are ya gonna do??
Both of these darling
bonded pairs need a
home TOGETHER.
They may be adopted
for a "two for
one"
adoption fee of only
$150.00 for each
pair!
Lastly, we want to include this thank you
letter from Michele Hughes, our Official
Small Paws Rescue soldier, who has been stationed
in Afghanistan.
She is coming home safe and sound and sends
her most sincere thanks to all of you!

Robin,
To everyone at Small
Paws Rescue who supported
me during my deployment
to Afghanistan this
past year. The packages,
cards, prayers and
letters were greatly
appreciated! My time
in Afghanistan if
finally done! I will be
home by the end of
next week as I start my
travel later on this
week.
For those of you who do not know me, I found
Small Paws shortly after my first Bichon,
Bailey, died back in early 2004. I was in
a state of deep depression and discovering
this wonderful organization was one of the
best things that happened to me.

Members of Small
Paws also supported
me during
my Iraq deployment
back in 2004-2005.
I want
to thank each and
everyone of you from
the
bottom of my heart.
I couldn't have gotten
through either deployment
without all of
your support.
Robin, thank you
for all the prayer
requests
as well. Keep those
coming as I start
traveling
this week heading
home. There are 100
of
us going home to
help set up shop
until the
rest of the unit
gets home.
I love this organization and could not imagine
my life without it. One of these years I
want to attend one of the many Bichon bashes
that are held, not only for the sheer joy
of doing it, but so that I may meet some
of you that share our obsession with the
breed!
Thank you all again
and please pray that
we all make it home
safe and sound and
can
be with our families
once again!
Michelle Hughes>
So that's the news that is the news!
And please don't
worry about us here at the
home office in Tulsa,
Oklahoma, where we
have been blessed
with 16-21 inches of snow!
Our snow plows are stuck on the highways,
bless their hearts. (The snow plow drivers,
not the snow plows.)
We are safe in our
homes with no plans
of
driving anywhere
for a while!
One of my Bichons,
my little heart dog Spunky
the Monkey Man, is
pretty low to the ground.

Here we are , Spunky the Monkey Man and me,
in warmer times at
the Riverwalk in
Jenks,
Ok.
Spunky keeps announcing, "We awe in
a state of emewgency. If you drive you will
be in an assident. We awe in a state of emewgency.."
I need to turn off
the news. All My Love, Robin
P.S. This was sent

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
