ROBIN, I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GOING THOUGH, I ALSO READ OVER ALL OF YOUR PAST HEART MURMUR BABIES STORIES AND CRIED LIKE A BABY. SO ME AND MY NEW ADOPTED BABY LITTLE ANNIE NOW NAMED KATIE WANT TO MAKE A CHALLENGE OF $50.00 TWICE TOTAL OF $100.00 TO ANYONE OUT THERE. I FEEL SO BAD FOR THE LITTLE ANGELS IN PAIN. MOMMA LOVGREN AND KATIE. >

Ok, time for updates.

I was hoping to have one earlier for you but the call just came in.

I just spoke to Dr. Skip's office, Munchkin came out of surgery about 10 minutes ago and he is doing great!

Thankfully it was only a PARTIAL tear of his ACL, not a complete tear.

It didn't involve the meniscus and it will be easier for him to heal!

He will stay in the ER tonight with 24 hour care and will go back home with his foster Mom, Flora, in the morning in OKC, OK.

Flora spoke to Dr. Skip when she first took him in, and she said, "WOW. That is a nice man! He was wonderful to me and to Munchkin."

Yup. He is. You all know that he is my hero and I trust him with my life and with the lives of my Chipper and Spunky Monkey, (btw, both are just doing great after recovering from Rocky Mountain Lion Spotted fever) so you know I trust him with the lives of these precious Bichons!

THANK YOU FOR HELPING MUNCHKIN!

And little Macy is going to be flying to Columbus, Ohio, with one of our flight attendants, Gretchen from Dallas, on Tuesday, where she will see Thaibinh, our cardiologist.

We love him and he loves us.

We are so blessed with these great Dogtor!

With your recent help, we were also able to schedule bladder stone surgery for a little Bichon in South Texas named "Bella".

She has had a hard row to hoe.

The cost for her surgery will be $700.00. We have authorized it to be done thanks to all of you!

From Glennda Bruce, Team Leader for South Texas:

Bella

"My name is Bella and I'm 6 years old. Small Paws Rescue took me in when I lost my home because my owner died from cancer. For such a young girl, I have lots of health issues. I have cataracts, my teeth are in pretty bad shape and my biggest problem is that I have a bladder that is full of stones. Initially the doctors thought I had a neurological problem with my back because I had a really strange walk and was hurting. Bladder stones are certainly easier to take care of than a back problem, but I need surgery to removed all the stones. Then I can be put on a special diet to prevent them from coming back."

We got this great picture of bladder stones which had been removed from one of our Bichons and it sure says a lot about why this is painful for them.

Many thanks to all of you who helped us to help these three Bichons, Munchkin, Macy and little Bella!

Have a wonderful weekend! All My Love and Gratitude, Robin

Prayer Reports and Requests

(God loves you more than anyone else ever has,

Subject: Request for prayer

Hi Robin,

While I'm praying as hard as I can for you to raise enough funds for the health care of the sweet babies in your care, I'm coming to you with a request for prayer for my 12-year-old baby girl, Buffy. She was diagnosed with diabetes today, and the dogtor is checking her out for Cushings. We're starting her on insulin tomorrow and I'm praying that she'll react positively to it.

On a positive note, Cher, our adopted rescue who has back problems and had had a flare up and stopped walking a few months ago, started walking again. She's happy and well adjusted, and always lets us know when she doesn't like an American Idol hopeful.

I appreciate the prayers.

Thank you,
Renee Gascon in Las Vegas

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
