First of all I wanted to give you all an
update on little
Macy, our 77th Heart Murmur Repair!

Macy, our 77th Heart Murmur Repair!
Macy had her surgery last Friday afternoon
at Medvet in Worthington, Ohio.
She came through
it perfectly and
is doing
just great, all thanks
to so many of you!
Thank you for saving Macy's life!
Ok, we are only 57%
of the way there to be
able to pay for the
vetting of four dogs
in Sara Pace's Team.
And, Sara just took in another one last night.
This time a 12 year old male from a high
kill shelter, who was scheduled to assume
room temperature because his owner was moving
and left him at the shelter.
My Spunky Monkey Man is 12 years old and
acts like a puppy!

See the video I took yesterday of my own
12 year old "Spunky Monkey" being
chased by"Reagan", our foster dog,
while Chipper, age 13, referees. This goes
on all day, off and on. Lots of wrestling.
Having a young foster dog has brought new
life into our home! (Can you tell who is the 1 year old and
who is the 12 year old?? Little Reagan is
the one chasing Spunky Monkey!)
So we have an additional $500-600 to raise
for our newest little 12 year old guy that
Kathy and Tom McPherson rescued from a kill
shelter in Sara Pace's Team, last night.
We have raised under $2000.00 so far of the
needed $3500.00 to be able to take care of
Robbie, Finnegan, Mia and Smudge, also in
Sara's team..

Mia Small Paws was hit by a car and left
in a crate at a kill shelter where she sat
for four days without pain meds. Estimate
for vetting is $500-600.

Robbie Small Paws 2-3 years old rescued from
a high kill shelter. Estimate for vetting
is $500.00. Very sweet boy.

Finnegan and Sara. 1.5 years old. Very tall,
Vet Estimate is for $500.00.

Smudge when we first rescued him from the
shelter.
He could not walk,
his hips were so
bad,
and he was in pain.

Smudge after his first hip surgery. He felt
so much better.
His second FHO surgery was done on Tuesday.
$1800.00 - 20% rescue discount.
We have a one matching donation challenge,
that has not yet been met for Sara's Saves,
Robbie, Finnegan, Mia and Smudge.
Some of you may have had trouble opening
the greeting card from Deborah Berger and
Boris, normetski@aol.com, with her Holiday
Challenge on it.
So Deborah has asked me to issue it again
in the newsletter.
She and Boris would
like to issue a $100.00
matching challenge
for Sara's Saves.
Boris will be crushed if no one answers his
challenge. You know how he is. He can fall
asleep from sheer boredom quite easily.
Please help me to
wake Boris up by
answering
his Mom's challenge!
Ok, that's all for now. We can do this is
everyone pitches in a little. Thank you all,
so much for all that you do for these Bichons!
All My Love, Robin

My dear ex Jeff is facing some very serious
surgery early tomorrow morning in ST. Louis.
My biggest concern is that he come out of
it without permanent loss of balance, dizziness,
swallowing or with facial paralysis. He has
lost hearing and that will be permanent.
PLEASE Robin, if you could request prayers
for him. He is a good man and a friend to
dogs and he very much needs our prayers now.
Most gratefully,
Bonnie Margolis

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
