We have two medical
emergencies happening.
First, we took in a pregnant Bichon from
a shelter in Chicago this past week.
3 year old Elise
is having babies.
She is
having trouble. Help
is needed. See below.
I just got this voice mail from the vet at
Naperville Animal Hospital.
"Hi Robin this is Dr. Sterner calling
from Naperville. Elise has had one
puppy this morning however it is a little
bit big for her size and she
had difficulty passing it. So it is unfortunately
not alive. I did get
off the phone with Sara, kinda talked it
over with her I wanna discuss with you about
potentially doing a C-section in case the
rest of the puppies are bigger she has any
further difficulty. Thanks."
I gave authorization
and we need funds
to
pay for it.
UPDATE that came right before sending this
newsletter. From Sara Pace in a text.
<"Okay so Dr. Sterner said looks
like one more and it's big, they are going
to have to C-section her to get the last
one out. They will also spay her while she
is under.
The last baby black and big came out with
heart beat but not wanting to breath.
Fwd: Dr Tom now trying
to save baby>
They can't even tell me what he estimate
is going to be with this being an emergency.>
Then on top of that we took in an owner surrender
in Michigan that has some of the most severe
allergies the dermatologist has ever seem.
This is from Jane
Cameron, "Janie's"
Foster Mom.
"<"Date: Thu, 27 Aug 2015 23:32:08

Subject: Janie
From: JANEWAY59@aol.com
Janie has lived in
a cone for two years.
She came to us with
food, skin and allergy
issues since she
was 3 ( she's 7). She bites
her skin, rips her
hair out and chews like
mad until she bleeds.
She scratched her lips
with her back leg
and squeals in pain and
bleeds. I have never
seen anything like it!">
So we sent her to
a dermatologist as an emergency
yesterday and he
wanted to do the allergy
testing right then.
7 year old Janie has some of the worst allergies
her dermatologist has ever seen. We had to
spend $1567.18 on her yesterday as an emergency.
HELP. It's a Holiday weekend.
This is her bill and we need help to pay it! This dog was
suffering!

appointment to support
Jane, our Foster
Mom.

After the patch test
he told us the speed
and size of some
of the reactions
were among
of the most severe
he had ever seen.
(The
photo was taken some
time after the test
and steroid shot
so the reactions
had already
receded significantly)

Denis>
Help is needed now.
I don't know if anyone
is home. I know it's
Labor Day Weekend.
Help is needed.

Paws Rescue
We had him for the
last five years,
He is
very obedient normally
when we say "stay"
he will stop wherever
he is, so some times
we are used to play
with him in the yard
for he loves to run
around the yard in
circles,
during that time
we did not put him
on the
leash, this particular
day he was not on
leash and did not
yield to the command
when
he saw some dog across
the road. It took
off so suddenly the
on coming driver
did
not have time to
stop the car. That
is how
it happened.>

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug
30, 2006
When I first saw
this beautiful picture
of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do,
and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it.
Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he
smiled.
