HI ROBIN, SURE SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT ALL THE
NEW LITTLE ANGELS YOU HAVE HAD TO RESCUE.
I WANT TO MAKE A MATCHING CHALLENGE FOR $50.00
FOR ANY TO HELP BUTTERCUP AND LULU. IT'S
SO VERY SAD TO HEAR OF ALL THE POOR LITTLE
ANGELS BEING SO CURLY TREATED. THEY DO NOTHING
BUT GIVE US SO MUCH LOVE. MOMMA LOVGREN<
And from Lynn, from "The Villages, Florida's
Friendliest Home Town" has said she
will pay for one airfare to get a foster
kidlet to it's new foster home. Thank you
Lynn!
Is there anyone else who would like to do
that too, maybe? The cost is around $175.00
which is charged to us directly by the airlines.
Ok, that's what we
have to offer in the way
of challenges!
I've been having
some medical testing done
at the hospital.
It's why I needed to be
gone all day today
and in the morning tomorrow.
I'm sure everything
is fine, but if you
think
of it, I am open
to any and all prayers.
They think there may be something growing
on my thyroid gland. Unless it's a puppy,
I want it gone, so I do appreciate all of
your prayers.
Ok, I think that's
all! Below is a copy of

Here is a little guy we pulled from animal
control today.

Kathy Macpherson and her husband went into
Chicago to get him. They are a very high
kill facility and put dogs down every day.
Every white dog they get there is a "poodle"
The new manager is very rescue friendly,
so they are trying really hard to get more
rescued, so their euth rates go down. A volunteer
there told me unfortunately they euthanize
dogs every day. They are the facility that
gets in about 25,000-30,000 dogs per year.
We named him Sonny. He is estimated to be
about 6 months old. Still has baby teeth.
He will need neuter, quarantine and some
vaccinations. The quarantine is $8 per day.
Estimated cost $500.00
Will keep you updated,
Thanks,
Sara (IL and IN)

Subject: Lulu Small Paws
Hi Robin and Bonnie,
I got an email yesterday that there were
3 bichons at Animal Welfare in Chicago that
needed rescue. This center is only an intake
facility. If rescues or no kill shelters
do not take them, than they are euthanized.
These 3 were running out of time. There were,
4 bichons at this facility but a small breed
rescue came through and only took the 1 yr
old bichon male, which left the other 3.
I picked up 3-4 yr old Lulu today, 2 yr old
Joey and 6 yr old Coco.
I am e-mailing you pics of all of them.
Here is Lulu. She is 8.5 #'s and thin. The
facility did shave her because she was her
fur was in such bad condition. She was a
stray. She will need 16 days quarantine @
$8 per day, spay, and some vaccinations.
They did give her a distemper and bordetella.
Her estimated vetting/quarantine will be
$500-600.
I will forward you pics of the boys in different
emails.

Subj: Beamer estimate
for approval
Hi Robin,
I got the estimate for Beamer (one of our
shelter pulls). He is estimated to be 1 year
old, 18.6 #'s. He has an ear infection that
needs flushed. His 16 day quarantine, neuter,
and ear cleaning is estimated at $545.12.
Just waiting on your approval for this one.
Thanks! He should go quickly once we get
him taken care of, the groomer was able to
save most of his hair, and they did it for
us for free. He's a handsome boy!

Okay, Mid Valley Vet estimate came in at
approx $729.90 (they put bonded pairs in
the same cage to save us money, aren't they
wonderful?)
That's for 16 days of boarding, neuter, cone
of shame, fecal and heartworm test, first
heartworm dose(free), Frontline (free), Microchip
(free), for both boys.
Do I have the okay on that one?

Here are the pics of 5-6 yr old Buttercup.(
I emailed an update on her a few days ago
but didn't have pics) She was going to be
PTS at a high kill animal control. She was
a total different dog when Kathy and I got
her out of animal control. She was backed
into a corner of the cage, shaking and terrified.
Once we got her out, we got kisses, tail
wags and smiles.(See below) She had been
at animal control since mid Oct. (not a nice
place). She is recovering from her spay and
is currently in quarantine @ the Animal Hospital.
Estimate is $500-600.

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
