If you missed our previous newsletter, here it is.
Deep in the heart of Texas, we have four
precious heartworm positive dogs.
Without treatment,
they would die.
Treatment is expensive. With normal vetting,
plus adding in heartworm treatment, we are
looking at an average of $1000.00 in vet
costs per heartworm positive dog.

Penny is 1 1/2 years old and heartworm positive.
Allie is 1 1/2 years old and heartworm positive.
She is Dixie's Mother.

Dixie is 7 months old and is heartworm positive.
She is Allie's daughter.
Finley has flat been through the ringer.
He was rescued with ringworm. which is a
fungus that is expensive to treat. On top
of that he is heartworm positive.
OF COURSE HE IS!
These are just four of the heartworm positive
dogs we have in rescue right now.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that we have a matching
donation challenge from Jeanne Montrose in
Florida, for $250.00! If someone can match
her, that will raise $500.00 for these Bichons!
Is there anyone who can match Jeanne? Thank
you Jeanne!

Robin,
Hope things have
quieted down at your way
for a while and that
the kidz won't continue
to fall from the
sky at the current rate.
I would like to issue
a matching challenge
from Gabby and Snoopy
of $250.00. All of
the other kidz who
are running around our
household had a say
in this. Chipper and
Louie>
We appreciate each
and every one of
you.
Together, we are
changing lives. Both
four
legged and two.

Paws Rescue
We had him for the last five years, He is
very obedient normally when we say "stay"
he will stop wherever he is, so some times
we are used to play with him in the yard
for he loves to run around the yard in circles,
during that time we did not put him on the
leash, this particular day he was not on
leash and did not yield to the command when
he saw some dog across the road. It took
off so suddenly the on coming driver did
not have time to stop the car. That is how
it happened.>
 Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
