Gem of the Day: "Champions know there are no shortcuts to the top. They climb the mountain one step at a time."
~ Judi Adler ~

Samantha is under one year old, and has a broken hip. Thanks to Small Pawsers, Don Rorschach and Deb Snider, the King and Queen of Transport from Dallas to OKC, and back, Samantha is in Oklahoma City now.

See a short video of this darling baby girl. This was sent by vet techs the Roanoke TX. vet clinic who were caring for her.

As you know, our bank account was sporting a lovely shade of red after paying the following vet bills last Monday night.

See Vet Bills Paid For the first 7 days of March, Totalling $8126.60

Dr. Skip Tangner, will do Samantha's surgery for us at a reduced rate of $2000.00.

Tonight, we are still trying to get our bank account up to where we can pay the vet bills we have so far AND pay for Samantha's surgery.

See another short video of this darling baby girl trying to walk. She was on morphine and under the watchful eye of a vet with ortho experience when this was taken. She does get up on her own in her cage and she does try to walk on her own, but you can see what happens. Not good.

These are the matching donation challenges for Samantha that have not been met yet.

This is a way you can make your donation go twice as far, by answering one of these remaining matching challenges!

Susan Sebring, the Co-Founder of Small Paws Rescue is still standing by to take your calls. 785-224-7839

First from Sara O’Neil, at setup012@msn.com, we have a challenge that was called in to Susan for $500.00. Thank you so much Sara! Is there anyone who has been blessed enough to be able to match Sara's challenge?!

And LIVE, from Manhattan in New York City, we have this challenge from Deborah Berger and her Bichon, Boris. Thank you Deborah!
Here is the challenge. Turn up your speakers!

And from Sandy we have this challenge for $100.00. Thank you Sandy!

I pledge $25.00 each month to Small Paws. I issue a challenge to everyone to start a monthly donation, whatever you can afford, you won't miss it, for us it meant a night with no pizza. My heart breaks everytime I open my SP e-mail and I know the monthly pledges add up no matter what amount you can give. I want to hold and love Samantha, we need to get her surgery soon.>

My beautiful white fluffly angel named Sammy Bichon has told me to issue a $15 matching challenge for his female name sake Samantha who was hit by a car. He says anybody with a name like 'Sam' must be a pretty awesome pup.

Thanks!!

Effort, great or small, is always rewarded.>

We are in the home stretch. 3/4 of the way to the summit. I can see the top.

The view is beautiful. Come on up!

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
