Gem of the Day: "No time for a gem today."
This is a quick message to ask for your prayers
for Dale and I and for our precious Spunky
Monkey, who is 12 years old. How medical
emergencies can happen to both of my own
personal dogs in 24 hours is beyond me. But
is has happened.
My Spunky Monkey is at Dr. Skips in OKC with
what they first thought was a cervical disc
in his neck. This happened sometime yesterday.
He was blitzing with a toy in his mouth yesterday
morning and then Dave Hagadorn came over
to pick up our vet bills at noon as he does
each Monday.
He reached down to
pet Spunky and he screamed,
and he screamed off
an on until I could rush
him up to Dr. Russell's.
Doc suspected a
disc issue in his
neck.
I rushed him to OKC this morning and Dr.
Skip Tangner just did a myelogram. He really
suspected it was a disc, but the news just
came back that it isn't.
There is a small
lesion of some kind on the
bone in his neck.
They did a CT of it and
are waiting for the
report back from the
veterinary radiologist.
It's either an arthritic thing that can be
managed with meds until it quiets down, or,
oh God, it could be bone cancer.
If it is, Skip said
he wouldn't operate
because
it wouldn't make
any difference on
how much
time we would have.
I KNOW that I know
that I know that
prayer
changes things.
I know that I know
that I know that
my Jesus
loves these little
dogs and He loves
us.
I'm asking for your
prayers.
Dale and I also wanted to thank you for the
prayers for our Chipper. Chipper is doing
absolutely fine now. He was diagnosed with
Vestibular Disease (Vertigo) and he is 100%
back to normal now. Robin

Subject: FOR THE NEWSLETTER: The online Bichon
Bash starts March 1!

Dear Robin,
I have a challenge and a pledge for the mighty
warriors of Small Paws.
During the entire month of March, I will
be hosting an online Bichon Bash to raise
money for Small Paws on my blog at www.PetCareBev.com.
Tyler's Bichon Bash
for Small Paws Rescue!
THE CHALLENGE: During
the month of March,
I challenge everyone
out there to send
me
their own Small Paws
story, or to send
me
a photo of their
Small Paws pooch.
MY PLEDGE: For every
story or photo that
I am able to publish
on my blog, I will
donate
$5 to Small Paws.
There are 31 days
in March.
I could easily publish
31 stories--but that
would only be a measly
$155. I want to publish
2 or 3 stories a
day, and lots of
photos!
C'mon you guys! Send
me lots of stories
and
photos and force
me to eat mac and
cheese
next month so that
I can pay off my
pledge!
So to recap, I'm
spending March blogging
about Small Paws;
highlighting Small
Paws
pooches waiting for
adoption on PetFinder;
and (with everyone’s
help) sharing stories
and photos from Small
Paws members to showcase
why we all love and
support Small Paws
Rescue
(and sending $5 to
Small Paws for every
story/photo
I use).
Stories and/or photos
should be sent to
BeverlyVanZant@gmail.com. I will preserve the privacy of everyone
participating.
With your help, I’m
looking forward to
writing
a big check to Small
Paws at the end of
the
month.
All my best,
Bev>
I'm getting ready to go pick up my boy and
drive back to Tulsa. I may not be online
until tomorrow.
Please pray for our Spunk the Monkey Man
and for Dale and I. His Daddy loves that
little guy so much and you all already know
I am completely gone on him. All My Love,
Robin

One small favor, could our pray warriors

She suffered another stroke two weeks ago

place and that's the bottom of the brain
tells each thing to do something. She has

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
