Guys, we need your
help in a couple of ways.
As you know, it takes many people to make
Small Paw go.
We have a volunteer, Janet at mageefoof@aol.com,
who lists all of the Small Paws Bichons for
adoption on Petfinder's with pictures and
bios.
She also takes in our owner surrender forms,
then sends them to the various Team Leaders
for dispatch.
She also keeps our XL chart of who all that
we have in rescue and which foster home they
are in, who all is in hospice, who all is
adopted, and who is coming in as a newbie.
She also keeps track of major illnesses and
treatments going on for these Bichons.
So Janet does a lot online for Small Paws.
Her older lap top computer is dying and taking
it's last gasping breaths.
Then, Denise Santos,
is our Bichon Travel
Agent.
She's the one who makes all of the airline
arrangements for Bichons to fly to either
foster homes or to their forever homes.
She is online a lot for Small Paws, both
early morning and late at night, and we got
this today from Denise.

Hello Ladies,
I have tried to save
my dying laptop but
it is just to, to
slow at this point.It
still
works but Its older
and the processor
is
very outdated as
well as the memory.
Does
SPR have a loaner
or one I could use
for
awhile? Let me know
, Thanks!

So, I was wondering if anyone out there may
have a new or gently used laptop they can
either loan to us or donate in exchange for
a tax receipt.
We need it to be one that's a later model
(one that isn't mostly dead, itself. Ha.)
and one that runs Windows 7.
If anyone knows of any possibilities, please
let me know at pup3@aol.com
Next, we have a wonderful challenge for you
and Carol will meet it up to $300.00! Thank
you, Carol!

Hi Robin,
Someone just sent
this to me . You've
probably
seen this but It
made me cry and think
of
all you have done
with Small Paws Rescue.
I'll issue a matching challenge for anyone
whose heart it touches
and inspires them
to donate, up to
$300.00
Thank you so much
for all you have
done to
help us all help
so many little pups!
God bless! Carol
Once I was a lonely dog,
Just looking for
a home.
I had no place to go,
No one to call my
own.
I wandered up and
down the streets,
in rain, in heat,
and snow.
I ate whatever I
could find,
I was always on the
go.
My skin would itch,
my feet were sore,
My body ached with
pain,
And no one stopped
to give a pat
Or to gently say
my name.
I never saw a loving
glance,
I was always on the
run.
For people thought
that hurting me
was really lots of
fun.
And then one day
I heard a voice
So gentle, kind and
sweet,
And arms so soft
reached down to me
And took me off my
feet.
"No one again
will hurt you."
Was whispered in
my ear.
"You'll have
a home to call your
own
where you know no
fear."
"You will be
dry, you will be
warm,
you'll have enough
to eat
And rest assured
that when you sleep,
your dreams will
all be sweet."
I was afraid, I must
admit,
I've lived so long
in fear.
I can't remember
when I let
A human come so near.
And as she tended
to my wounds
And bathed and brushed
my fur
She told me about
the rescue group
And what it meant
to her.
She said, "We
are a circle,
A line that never
ends.
And in the center
there is you
protected by new
friends."
"And all around
you are
the ones who check
the pounds,
And those who share
their homes
after you've been
found."
"And all the
other folks
who are searching
near and far,
To find the perfect
home for you,
where you can be
a star."
She said, "There
is a family,
that's waiting patiently,
and pretty soon we'll
find them,
just you wait and
see."
"And then they'll
join our circle
they'll help to make
it grow,
so there'll be room
for more like you,
who have no place
to go."
I waited very patiently,
The days they came
and went.
Today's the day I
thought,
my family will be
sent.
Then just when I
began to think
it wasn't meant to
be,
there were people
standing there,
just gazing down
at me.
I knew them in a
heartbeat,
I could tell they
felt it too.
They said, "We
have been waiting
for a special dog
like you."
Now every night I
say a prayer
to all the gods that
be.
"Thank you for
the life I live
and all you've given
me.
But most of all protect
the dogs
in the pound and
on the street.
And send a Rescue
person
to lift them off
their feet."

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
