First, LIVE from Manhattan in NEW YORK CITY,
from Deborah Berger and her celebrity Bichon,
Boris, we have this challenge for anyone
who has ever loved and lost a beloved furbaby,
in honor of LuLu Danklefsen. Thank you Deb.

"Lulu" Danklefsen passed away on
Friday at age 15.
She had been run over by a train back in
2005, and lost one of her feet.
A prosthetic boot
was made especially
for
Lulu.

Hope this video puts a smile on your face. In answer to your request this is my response.
My first true Heart
Dog was a rescue and
her name was Lulu,
who went to the bridge
August, 2006. To
this day my eyes well up
when I think of her,
a few months later my
first Bichon, Tosca,
who just about made
it to 17, passed
to the bridge, both of them
were blind and deaf
and had kidney problems.
Because of Tosca
I started reading about
Bichons which led
me to SPR,
which eventually
brought me Mr. Manhattan,
aka Louie Vuitton
now known as Boris Berger.
Then within the year
I lost my little yorkie,
Carmen and then Thanksgiving
2010 my dear
Oliver, a rescue
cat went to the bridge.
I've never forgotten
the love and selflessness
each one imparted.
Including Boris,
I have 3 more rescues for
a total of 4 in a
Manhattan Condo, thank
goodness Central
Park is a block away. Boris
would like to honor
each one with a $50.00
challenge for a total
of $200.00.
So please, I know
almost all of you
have
experienced loss
with your pets. Lets
honor
this little Lulu
and her wonderful
parents
who gave her the
life she so deserved.
Many thanks, Deborah
Berger and a grateful
Bichon named Boris
Berger>
And from Deb Snider, in Norman, Oklahoma,
we have this poetic challenge. Thank you,
again, Deb! Who will buy a line?!

Hi Robin. I ‘d like
to issue the following
matching challenge,
in memory of LuLu
and
to help with our
daily expenses for
the never-ending
stream of new kids.
As a volunteer, I
know
the costs associated
with helping each
and
every one. But LuLu
wants us to do our
best.
She knew how hard
life could be, and
how
sweet with love and
care.
There are 24 lines
in this verse. I
would
like to get this
started with a $20
donation,
and ask that 24 other
SPR folks step forward
with a $20 donation
to “buy a line”.
I will match each,
up to a total of
$500.
Let’s do this in
LuLu’s memory, and
for all
the dogs that have
no one else to come
for
them, but Small Paws.
I’d remind us all,
as Robin has - we
are the last chance
for
so many. Saving the
lives of these wonderful
beings is well worth
the effort. Thank
you
for your support
- and please “buy
a line”!
I am LuLu, and I
have
A tale to tell to
you
A little bit about
my life
And something you
can do.
My early years were
not too good
Spent in a puppy
mill
I was saved, but
didn’t know.
It would get worse,
still.
I did not know that
I was safe
and ran away, to
find
that great big trains
cause great big harm
to small Bichon behinds.
Saved yet again,
I found a home
where love was all
around
For once I knew without
a doubt
That true love knows
no bounds.
My life was rough,
but ended well
with many years of
love
Give one more dog
the chance for this
And joy comes from
above.
Look once into my
eyes
And you will clearly
see
That my life now
is up to you
I’m waiting – come
for me. >
And from Nancy in MA., we have this challenge
in honor of Lulu. Thank you Nancy.

I would like to issue a challenge to all
SPR family in memory of Lulu. She's shining
down on us and hoping that we will donate
just a little something in memory of her.
I would like to issue a matching challenge
of $25.00. I hope some people can match me
in memory of Lulu. Sounds like she was pretty
special.
Godspeed Lulu

And we have something special coming, right
around the corner! Thank you Bev and Tyler,
again! This is such a lovely thing that you
do for Small Paws!
Ok, get out your pictures and stories! On
your marks, get set, GO!

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
