Many thanks to everyone who responded to my request for information regarding jerky treats made in China.

I know we didn't have much time and I appreciate those of you who did respond within just a few minutes.

Ok, about the China Jerky Treats Segment on Fox Cable News Network's, Fox Business News, "Money with Melissa Francis in NYC".

I had just a few hours notice that morning, learning I was going to be commenting via live remote from Tulsa, OK.,on the Fox Cable News Network's, Fox Business News, "Money with Melissa Francis", regarding dog treats from China making thousands of dogs very sick and killing at least 1000 more.

From the responses I got back from you all, I learned that dozens of our members have had dogs who became very ill after eating these treats, and 15 of them have died, since 2007.

One of our members suffered the deaths of two of her precious Bichons within a couple of days, after eating these treats.

Most of these cases were reported to the FDA. Others were confirmed by veterinarians who said the treats were the cause of death.,

It can be very misleading because American companies are putting their names on the fronts of the packages of these treats.

Dale bought one of these packages for me to take to the broadcast, although we didn't have time to show it.

It was supposed to be four minute interview but we got word two minutes out that there wasn't enough time left, and the segment would be brief. I tried to get as much out as I could!

The front of the package we got was clearly marked with the word "Purina", but on the back, it said in small letters that this was a product of China.

There was also a health warning to watch your dog for signs of lethargy, vomiting, etc., and to seek medical attention if needed.

Hellooo??

This news story is from CBS News.

Petco pulls pet treats from China suspected of killing, sickening thousands

It's about time as we have been harping about it for years.

The last I heard is that Walmart has made the decision NOT to pull these treats. Click here to hear from Dr. Brett Levitzke about the dangers of these treats.

I was honored to have been asked to come on to talk about this subject!

These are a few of the pictures of Polo Pressnall and I at the studio here in Tulsa, while we waited to go on air. (Ya don't have to look.)

All My Love, Robin

I think they thought the hair and make-up lady could help.

Maybe some lighting will help and people will think I'm actually in downtown Tulsa with that screen behind me.

Ok, Serious Business here. The tiny speaker stuck in my ear from NYC said "Robin, Ten Seconds."

I gulped and hoped Polo didn't throw up.

This was while we were still waiting and I was talking. (Imagine that.)
I told Polo to smile. So he did.

He evidently didn't know he was supposed to smile
DURING THE INTERVIEW.

We are still waiting to go on. They had just done the tease about the next segment being about dangerous treats from China, and my own dog, Polo Pressnall, actually licked his lips. I was mortified.

What an honor to be invited and put in our two cents! Many thanks to the Fox Business Network!

Polo was a perfect gentlemen and everyone at the studio loved him.

He now refers to himself as "The Moobie Star"

All My Love, Robin

>When these folks applied to adopt, and we asked how their Bichon was killed by a car, this was their response. We hear this on an average of once a week.

(These are NOT Bichons adopted from Small Paws.)

PLEASE don't take a chance with the life of your Bichon!
We do not adopt to people who allow their dogs to run loose.

Subject: Re: Small Paws Rescue

We had him for the last five years, He is very obedient normally when we say "stay" he will stop wherever he is, so some times we are used to play with him in the yard for he loves to run around the yard in circles, during that time we did not put him on the leash, this particular day he was not on leash and did not yield to the command when he saw some dog across the road. It took off so suddenly the on coming driver did not have time to stop the car. That is how it happened.>

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
