Welcome! We hope
you enjoy reading
about
the Bichons and the
people who love them!
If you missed our last newsletter, here it
is.
We are still trying to get our bank account
up to a level where
we can operate and give
vets authorizations
to do much needed surgeries
on several of our
rescued Bichons.
We have one last matching challenge for you.
I hope someone can match this one. Thank
you Darla!
<From Darla Alexander, wintercomesearly@gmail.com:
I want to issue a $25.00 matching challenge
to another SPR lover who is on a fixed income
like me but want to see those 2 dogs from
the man who went into the nursing home brought
into rescue. It could happen to any of us.
I wish it could be more, but at least maybe
we can double this. Hugs to Chipper - may
he do well tomorrow and Happy Birthday too!

OK..I didn't want you to think we are there
yet or even nearly there yet in regard to
fundraising, but I stopped into a Starbucks
in OKC to be able to send you the pictures
of McDreamy leaving Dr. Skips, our surgeon!
McDreamy has been there nearly a month.
First, he was hit
by a car in Arlington
TX.
Witnesses called
animal control and
they
came for him.
Then they called us.
His pelvic bone was broken and he could not
stand.
But worse than that,
the broken pelvic bone
had crushed and nearly
severed his urethra
and he couldn't urinate.
Poisons were backing
up into his system.
This soon became a medical emergency.
Two surgeries later, he has a new opening
from which to urinate, and he is urinating
just fine.
He is a happy boy,
almost a year old.
These are the pictures
from this morning.
Deb Snider drove up from Norman OK to pick
him up and to begin the drive towards Arkansas
to meet his new foster Mom, Debbie Archer.
Many thanks to both
of these ladies for helping
with our little McDreamy!
My Chipper is in
surgery now to remove
a
suspicious looking
mole from the top
of his
head. We're not worried
but are sending it
off to pathology
to make sure it isn't
anything.
Please continue to pray for funds to come
in to help these Bichons!
Ok, these are the pictures and videos of
McDreamy, our miracle boy. All My Love, Robin

He is wiggling so much, it was hard to get
the leash hooked onto his harness!

Here he is leashed up to get ready to leave
the hospital!
His tail is just
wagging to beat the
band!

"OK! I'm leashed up already! Let's
Goooooo!"
See the first short video of McDreamy outside!

video of McDreamy!
Folks, this was a
GREAT save, all thanks
to you!

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
