Sara Pace, our Il.
and IN. Team Leader called
this morning. She
needs permission to pick
up five Bichons from
a shelter near Chicago
as soon as possible.
It will cost about
$600.00 to vet and quarantine
each of them.
They are darling and none of them deserve
to be left there!
She went to take pictures yesterday of them
for you. She sent four pictures and accidentally
deleted the fifth but here are the four pics
that we have. This is urgent.

April
3-4 year old female.

April Armani
Very Young Male

April Avalon
4 Year Old Male

April Apollo
6 year old male

April Anton (We don't have a picture of him
yet. Use your imagination.)
6 year old male.
I am here and will send out all matching
donation challenges for the Chicago Five.
All My Love, Robin
P.S. If this poem doesn't describe Small
Paws Rescue and her volunteers, I don't know
what does. Thank you Jim McIntyre, for sending,
Once I was a lonely dog,
Just looking for
a home.
I had no place to
go,
No one to call my
own.
I wandered up and
down the street,
In rain in heat and
snow.
I ate what ever I
could find,
I was always on the
go.
My skin would itch,
my feet were sore,
My body ached with
pain.
And no one stopped
to give a pat
Or a gently say my
name.
I never saw a loving
glance,
I was always on the
run
For people thought
that hurting me
Was really lots of
fun.
And then one day
I heard a voice
So gentle, kind and
sweet,
And arms so soft
reached down to me
And took me off my
feet.
"No one again will hurt you,"
Was whispered in
my ear.
"You'll have a home to call your own
Where you will know no fear."
"You will be dry, you will be warm,
You'll have enough to eat"
"And rest assured that when you sleep,
Your dreams will all be sweet."
I was afraid I must
admit,
I've lived so long in fear.
I can't remember when I let
A human come so near.
And as she tended
to my wounds
And bathed and brushed
my fur
She told me bout
the Rescue Group
And what it meant
to her.
She said, "We are a circle,
A line that never ends."
"And in the center there is YOU
Protected by new friends."
"And all around you are
The ones that daily
check the pounds,
And those that share
their home
After you’ve been found."
"And all the other folk
Are searching near
and far.
To find the perfect
home for you,
Where you can be a star."
She said, "There is a family,
That's waiting patiently,
And pretty soon we'll find them,
Just you wait and see."
"And then they'll join our circle
They'll help to make it grow,
So there'll be room for more like you,
Who have no place to go."
I waited very patiently,
The days they came
and went.
Today's the day I thought,
My family will be
sent.
Then just when I
began to think
It wasn't meant to be,
There were people
standing there
Just gazing down
at me.
I knew them in a
heartbeat,
I could tell they
felt it too.
They said, "We have been waiting
For a special dog like you."
Now every night I
say a prayer
To the loving God
that made me
"Thank you for the life I live
And all you've given me.
But most of all protect
the dogs
In the pound and
on the street.
And send a Rescue
Person
To lift them off their feet."

Rascal, my SPR dog
and my BEST BAD BOY
has
tested positive for
a bladder tumor.
He is
scheduled for an
ultrasound on Friday.
The
vettie says that
there is a 20% chance
the
tests could be wrong-I
guess that is a false
positive but the
ultrasound will tell
us.
Please ask for prayers
for my special boy
in a special ministry.
I am storming heaven
on his behalf I love
him so.
Thanks so much for the blessing that you
and Dale and Bonnie and Lou are and for all
that you do. I so much appreciate your caring
and your friendship for the passion that
we share for all of our fluffers. I am trying
so hard to WHOLLY trust God and I get frustrated
when I get scared.

>When these folks applied to adopt, and
we asked how their Bichon was killed by a

on an average of once a week.

Paws Rescue
We had him for the last five years, He is
very obedient normally when we say "stay"
he will stop wherever he is, so some times
we are used to play with him in the yard
for he loves to run around the yard in circles,
during that time we did not put him on the
leash, this particular day he was not on
leash and did not yield to the command when
he saw some dog across the road. It took
off so suddenly the on coming driver did
not have time to stop the car. That is how
it happened.>
 Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought
it was truly the epitome of what we do, and
why we do it. I wanted to use this black
and white picture of Humphrey, taken only
days before his death due to congestive heart
failure, to let those who may be new to Small
Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known
love. He would have died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
