Snowball
No time for a gem. We have a surgery needing
done tomorrow in South Texas.
You may recall we took in a dog from a South
Texas shelter who was an owner surrender.
They thought he had a hernia in his rectum
and they brought him into the shelter for
euthaniasia. They called us.
Well, he had a polyp in his colon. Our regular
vet tried to remove it and sent it to pathology
where it came back as a pre-cancerous colon
polyp. In 20 years we have never had this
happen in one of our dogs. He could not get
it all.
Yesterday, our Team Leader, Karla Carter,
took Snowball to see a Board Certified surgeon,
Dr. John Dahlinger, at Blue Pearl Specialty & Emergency Pet
Hospital in Katy, TX
19450 Katy Freeway,
Suite 200
Houston, TX 77094
The surgeon needs
to go in with a scope to
be able to get it
all. Then he will be fine
and ready for adoption.
Right now, this polyp
is bleeding.
At first, our vet thought Snowball was around
eight years old,but after his dental, his
eyes tell a different story. They think he's
more like four years old.
The surgeon wants to remove the rest of this
polyp tomorrow, Friday morning. The estimate
is for $1500.00-2500.00. These things usually
end up on the high end.
I know it's a bad time for this to happen
but we need to raise these funds before tomorrow
morning.
And I'm travelling and am not here to be
able to send out matching challenges.
Is there anyone who can help this poor Bichon?
He is bleeding rectally.
Help is needed now.
All My Love, Robin
