Spanky's Memorial Page

"Spanky Adams"
1990-7/30/02

Spanky Adams crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 30, 2002, after a brief illness. His tales and stories will always live on in our hearts. The following post appeared on the AOL Bichon board and some of you have asked to do this as a lasting memorial to our friend. Spanky's Mom, Ardys Adams, at Spankybaby2000@aol.com, is a dear friend and supporter of Small Paws® Rescue. We will send a beautiful custom made card to Ardys with your names on it if you would like to be included in this memorial. Spanky was a legend in our own minds and a true icon among us. This is the end of an era for the Bichons and the people who love them on the AOL Bichon Board.

Spanky and his mom have been on my mind since I heard the terrible news about our favorite little buddy Spanky. I was trying to think of some way to have a fitting memorial for Spanky. My thoughts were to donate money to Small Paws® Rescue in honor of Spanky. If other members of the board would contribute
even a small amount of money in memory of him, I believe that would be something that Ardys would think would be a very special way to honor her Spanky. I also have thought about putting a picture of Spanky right next to GramStar as the leaders of the Bichon Brigade Parade.
Last night as I was trying to fall asleep, I couldn't keep from thinking about Spanky and Ardys. I had to keep turning my pillow over because it was so wet with tears, and I had to keep the kleenex right beside my bed too. Finally I thought of the donation to SPR in honor of Spanky. I hope this will be something for others who are mourning for Spanky and for Ardys whose heart must be breaking.
Bichon love and prayers,
Katie, Beau and mom Mickey

God Speed Spanky. We all loved you like you were our own.

Special Place
You have a special place, Dear Lord, that I know you'll always keep.
A special place reserved for dogs, to peacefully fall asleep.
A place with fluffy pillows, and a yard for hiding bones,
With maybe a little babbling creek, that rushes over stones.
With wide green fields and flowers, for those who never knew
Of running, playing freely under sky of perfect blue.
Lord, I know you keep this special place, And so, to you I pray
For one oh so special dog Who came to you today.
He was full of strength and love, And so very, very wise.
The puppy look he once had, This morning left his eyes.
He will be dearly missed, Lord, This special love of mine.
But now, he'll romp and play in your land that's so divine.
Speak to my baby softly, please; with a hug and warm hello.
He's a special gift to you, Dear Lord; From me - who loves him so.
