Four of our marvelous Small Paws Blanketeers, Helen Schultz, Diane Piskur, Sue Halley and Linda Gonzales spent a long weekend at Sue's house sewing their little hearts out, piecing a log-cabin style quilt - assisted and inspired by Sue's fluffs, Bella, Thuy, Timmy and Sophie.

I cried when I saw the extraordinary beauty of this quilt, and all of the love that you four put into it for these precious Bichons. I thank you all from the very bottom of my heart. God bless you all! Robin

Longarm quilter Diane Piskur then took the top home and did the most amazing job quilting their labor of love, named "Please Bring Me Home". Sue has now put the binding on and we've decided to maximize the fundraising capacity of this gorgeous quilt by selling raffle tickets at $5 apiece at events and through the gift shop until the Okie Picnic 2006, when the winning ticket will be drawn and the quilt awarded.
This is not the first quilt these wonderful women have done. One was sold on Ebay last year, but what we like about the raffle is that anybody who can afford the price of a ticket could own this quilt, and the return for their work has the potential to be so much greater for SPR. Our initial printing is 500 tickets, and if we sell them all we'll raise $2500 for Small Paws Rescue! 100% of the proceeds will benefit SPR. If they all sell out quickly, and I hope they will, we will print as many as we can sell between now and the drawing.
