![]() Number 32, 33 and 34 URGENT MEDICAL EMERGENCY January 27, 2006 With everything else we have going on, we just got word that THREE more heart murmur babies are on their way into Small Paws from a commercial kennel in MO. We have enough to take care of ONE surgery...not three. Meet babies Polly, Wally, and Doodle. ![]() This is one of the little males, named Wally. You can see how sick he is.
A close up of Wally with no pigmentation. He just hurts. ![]() One of the other males, Doodle, and a precious female, Polly. Get it? Polly, Wally Doodle?? (No tomato throwing) They did not move to try to get out of the crate. Their chests are rattling like a washing machine. They have Grade 6 murmurs...the worst they could be. This is from Dr. Russell, our Small Paws vet in Tulsa, Oklahoma Subj: Heart Murmur Puppies Date: 1/28/2006 8:02:45 AM Central Standard Time To: pup3@aol.com I checked over the 3 puppies. All have 6/6 murmurs. They weigh 2.5lbs (F), 3.2lbs (M), and 4.2lbs (M w/ pink nose). David S. Russell, DVM Small Animal Clinic of Tulsa> The surgery to repair these murmurs runs right at $2000.00 each at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. We have done this life saving surgery 31 times before. Last November we got in four puppies at once with heart murmurs. We were rushing them to A&M when one of them died in our arms. ![]() The Heart Quads from last November We need to get these three kidlets down there and fast...but we can't do it without your financial help. Can you help us to help the three heart murmur babies that are on their way into rescue from Mo.? See Vet Bills Paid so far in January, 2006 totalling $ 25,906.49 UPDATE Saturday Night 8: 15 P.M. Our rescue caravan (Dave, Lindsey, Perry, Terri, John, Patty and Bob) worked hard today moving the babies from Tulsa, Oklahoma, down through Dallas, to near Houston, and on to Texas A&M in College Station Tx. All of the babies have been confirmed to have grade 6 murmurs. Wally is in the worst shape of any of the three. He is very lethargic. I had to hold his widdle head up, last night. Right now they are going to let them rest tomorrow, and begin the surgeries on Monday...that is the plan! Please keep the dogtors and the babies in your prayers! UPDATE Jan 31, 2006 9:00 P.M. Doodles had surgery this morning and he is doing just GREAT! Tomorrow they are going to do surgery on Polly, and they are going to attempt to coil Wally. Please remember them in your prayers! This will be our 32, 33 and 34th Heart Murmur patients. We have done this life saving surgery 28 times before. The Heart Murmur Reunion Page When we lost MIKEY in New York, after attempting the coil technique there, I promised myself that with all other heart murmur Bichons, I would just fly them down to Texas A&M where we have had success after success. (Two of our Heart Murmur Babies were taken to Texas A&M and were not candidates for the surgery. They were Chevy and June.) Can you turn on your heart light once more for little Buttons? Her surgery will run right at $2000.00 in order to save her life. This is how to use your major credit card.
