Small Paws Bichon "Lulu" has been
hit by a train. Jen, our Ohio Team Leader,
just called..she has Lulu at emergency now!
Small Paws Rescue Information About Our Programs
Dear Small Pawsers,
As you know, one of our Bichons has been hit by what the vet thinks was a TRAIN GOOD LORD HAVE MERCY.
Jen just called. She now has Lulu at emergency. Lulu is stable but in very serious condition. All of her legs are wrapped right now. The one that is broken in several places has already been X-rayed...the one with the severed (AS IN CHOPPED CLEAN OFF) paw, is really bleeding, and they are treating the bleeding now. They are doing a chest X-ray to see if there is internal damage. They have to stabilize her before she can go into surgery! It will be sometime between now and the morning when the surgery can happen. They are calling in an orthopod of course.
The bill for tonight alone will be right at $400.00. They are estimating the surgery to fix the broken leg to be at $1000.00-$1500.00. So far we have raised about $400.00.
I still can't believe I am telling you that one of our Bichons has been hit by a TRAIN! This is just unbelievable that she survived!
We have this EMERGENCY MATCHING DONATION CHALLENGE FOR $300.00 from Sue Hodges in California! Just mention Sue's challenge!

Robin: I would like to issue a $300. matching
challenge to address this emergency. This
does not sound like a situation in which
euthanasia would be the best alternative.
This challenge is in memory of Sebastian
whom I had to take to the bridge ten days
ago. At almost 16, we ran out of options
for him (after two+ years of sophisticated
treatment that bought precious extra time
for him) but we are not out of options for
Lulu. Let's get that baby fixed up!
Best,Sue

Robin--
I know I don't take the time to thank you
for all the hard work you do for Small Paws
Rescue, but please know that all the great
people involved with the organization are
always on my mind (and in my prayers). That
being said, I wanted to let you know that
I just received the first notice from my
company, SBC, that it is time to "re-up"
for our United Way Contributions. Last year,
I doubled the amount I contribute and designated
Small Paws Rescue as the recipient. It took
a little work because Small Paws was not
yet listed in our choices.
Please, in your next email, ask everyone
who already contributes to United Way to
direct some (or all) to Small Paws. The information
needed is on your website. If each of the
5,000 volunteers only designated $5 per month,
just think of the amount of money that would
pour in!!!
Thank you, again, for all you do.

There is a reason this baby was spared by whatever zoomed off her paw and toes. I believe God has high plans for this one, folks...high plans indeed. Love, Robin
