Preparations for the classroom scene..

The next generation of Small Pawsers!

Hi Robin, Here are some shots of the film in the making. The stars included Irene and Joe Libby's Robert and puppy,Barbara's Titan, a Cavalier King Charles, Peeves, a Boston terrier,Crystal, a new CT foster home and her Joy, Mary with her new SPR puppy Buddy, formerly Storm. I forgot Barbara's niece's name. She is the one with the SPR t-shirt and my Logan. Barbara was delightful and put a great deal of effort into the filming. She wrote the script herself. Hopefully it came out well and several new stars have been born. Since I took care of my Logan, I realized I hadn't taken any pictures of him and so, He is sitting alone on a chair in a classroom. All of the stars did a god job. Mary is so happy with her little puppy who is the sweetest little guy. He loved my Logan. It was fun. Autographs will come later. Sincerely, Pat malts:pkimmel@snet.net

Hi, Robin,

Thanks for sending me Pat's email. What great shots! You would not believe how FANTASTIC all the dogs did! We had Robert, Logan, Joy, Titan, Browning, Peeve, Bonnie and Buddy, which means 6 adult dogs and 2 puppies. These superstars all performed on cue, held their positions and no one fought, peed or ran away! I could not get over how great they all did. They did so great,we finished filming TWO commercials ONE HOUR EARLY!!!!! Paul our director, had serious reservations about perfoming dogs. He even had to admit they all did "pretty good."

I wanted to send you pictures, but my husband took the digital camera with him. he wanted to email me a picture of him. He totally forgot I needed it. I can't be mad at him because he has been such a HUGE help.

This was definitely a great deal of work, but we all enjoyed today and we knew it was for the dogs. I'd like to think tonight when we go to bed we can all think we really did something today.

Where should I send the final commercial copy? I will also send you the still shots once they are developed. My father was the other photographer today (the still shots). Thank you for all your help and sorry I'm such a pest! I can go back to being a 'normal' person now.

-Barbara :)

Robin,

I just HAD to write and tell you what a BLAST all of us had yesterday working with Barbara on the two Small Paws® commercials in CT. My 11 year old Bichon, Joy (a responsible show breeder bred pup) went and was a part of everything (when you see the tape, she is one in the red velvet joker's collar with bells on the ends.) along with 4 other Bichons (two were rescue bichons!!! and two were still puppies), a King Charles Spaniel, a Resue spaniel and a professionally trained Boston Terrier. Everybody did amazingly well, especially those dogs that hadn't hadn't been through obedience training. Joy had been doing sit/stays and down/stays and sit/stay/come all her life, but some of these dogs were showing off new skills and they were just troopers!

Barbara did an amazing job putting the whole thing together and treated us like royality, providing breakfast and cold drinks and hosting us at her home. It was a wonderful experience and made us all feel so good that we could do something meaningful for consumer education about the importance of locating responsible breeders that treat their dogs with the loving care and respect that they are due. We are all SOOOO proud of our new TV STARS!!!!!! They will be taking requests for paw-ographs on a first come, first serve basis.

Hugs, Crystal Renfro

Lot's O' Licks, Joy

Hi Robin

We just got back from being a part of the commercial with Barbara and other bichons and breeds. it was a wonderful experience and we look forward to seeing the completed commercial when its ready. Thank you so deeply for letting us be a part of this experience. We also met a lady from East Windsor who I had referred to Small Paws® and had her 5 mos old puppy with her (from Small Paws®). that was exciting to meet someone I had referred to Small Paws®.

The whole day was great. Barbara was so nice and had assorted snacks, coffee etc on hand. she has a lovely home and dogs. Was also happy to see a judge sentence those horrible people you mentioned in your latest email. wish more of them would do the same. Thank You again for your kindness.

Irene & Joe , Robert and Bonnie.

Hi I cannot even begin to tell you what a wonderful experience the commercial was. I was honored to be a part of the public awareness crusade. There are so many dogs in rescue. WE do have a TV station in Hartford, Ct that places with the ASPCA a rescue dog and cat a week---the web sites are also posted from a few shelters but the need is greater than the awareness.

Barbars did a terrific job. I also teach in an inner city and the problem there is absolute abuse of the Pit Bull. The city through ordenances has tried to curb the problem but it is severe. These dogs are bred and trained for fighting and attack. I have wittnessed dogs with chains in their mouth to strenghten the jaws, spikes around their necks and short leashes---it is awful---the city cracked down on some of this ---but the fights and the training continue---I do not think a lot of people are aware of this. The laws now result in arrest if the ownwers are found and caught. From Every Small Beginning Becomes A Big Thunder
