Dr. David Russell, of The Small Animal Clinic of Tulsa,(1-918-749-VETS) examines "Cherie'". Cherie' was born on November 1, 2003 in a commercial kennel in Mo. She has a grade 5 heart murmur.

Cherie' is very friendly...and very sick.:(

If we can raise the funds, this will be our 21st
Heart Murmur Repair. We have done this surgery 20 times before.
The Heart Murmur Reunion Page

When we lost MIKEY in New York, after attempting the coil technique there, I promised myself that the next heart murmur baby, I would just fly them down to Texas A&M where we have had success after success.

TWO of our Heart Murmur Babies were taken to Texas A&M and were not candidates for the surgery. They were Chevy and June.

Our Fairy Dog Pilots, Erik and Sharon Krask have graciously allowed me unlimited airline travel so that we can get Cherie' down to Texas A&M University Vet School where the experts reside.

January 27 Update from Texas A&M University

Baby Cherie' with my best Texas A&M buddy, Lucy Wendt, at the front desk.

4th year vet student, Michelle, examines Cherie. Michelle's Dad has two Bichons so I told her she is a Bichon sibling!:)

Dr. Saunders confirms the grade five PDA heart murmur. They are going to coil Cherie tomorrow...BUT..we need prayers. There is something else going on..maybe pulmonic stenosis..something else besides the PDA is going on. We will know more tomorrow. Please pray. This is scheduled for tomorrrow morning sometime. More as I know it. So far, our estimate is at $2200.00. I expect it to go even higher if there are more complications. Love, Robin

Update January 28, 6:00 P.M.
Cherie made it through the surgery and is 100% fine! There was nothing else wrong after all! They used two coils, and she can come home tomorrow morning! I will be posting pics from her surgery today, a little later this evening! Thank you all for praying!

Here are the promised pics of today's surgery!

Cherie goes under anesthesia before surgery.

This looks just like a human operating room...except the patients all have tails.

Cardiologist Dr. Matt Miller prepares to do surgery on Cherie.

Waking up with happy juice.

Feeling just a LITTLE tipsy after the surgery....

4th year vet student, Kat, takes care of our patient!

Thanks to the loving and caring staff at Texas A&M University for saving our 21st Heart Murmur Baby!

Can you turn on your heart light once more for little Cherie'? Her surgery will run right at $2000.00 in order to save her life.Without this surgery, she will not live much longer.

Turn on Your Heartlight
By Neil Diamond

Come back again
I want you to stay next time
Cause sometimes the world ain't kind
When people get lost like you and me

I just made a friend
A friend is someone you need
But now that he has to go away
I still feel the words that he might say

Turn on your heartlight
Let it shine wherever you go
Let it make a happy glow
For all the world to see

Turn on your heartlight
In the middle of a young boy's dream
Don't wake up too soon
Gonna take a ride across the moon
You and me

He's lookin' for a home
Cause everyone needs a place
A home's the most excellent place of all
And I'll be right here if you should call me

Turn on your heartlight
Let it shine wherever you go
Let it make a happy glow
For all the world to see

Turn on your heartlight
In the middle of a young boy's dream
Don't wake up too soon
Gonna take a ride across the moon
You and me

Turn on your heartlight now
Turn on your heartlight now
