Chimmy and Chaco
We received a very poignant request, from
near Ft. Worth, Texas, regarding these two
boys...

Here are parts of the letter ...
Dear Small Paws® Rescue,
I need to find a new home for
my two Bichons.
My son has
allergy-induced asthma. The doctor said my
son is allergic to the dogs’ shedded skin
cells, any urine on the carpet, etc. I had
suspected XXXXX was allergic to them, and
have kept his bedroom totally closed off.
My dogs, Chimmy and Chaco, are
3 1/2 years
old. They are
1/2 brothers, bought from a private breeder
in Albuquerque, NM. I didn't register them,
because they were to be pets only-- they
would never be “shown” and never bred (they
were both neutered as puppies).
I want to make sure they will be well cared
for. Anyone who takes them will have to understand
the time investment involved. These doggies
are so sweet and I love them. I feel incredibly
guilty about finding them another home.
Can Small Paws® help me? I hope to hear from
you.
Thank you for your time, advice, and help,
Well, we told the lady we would of course
take these babies, and would of course keep
them together. The VERY NEXT DAY, I got a
call on my cell phone, while I
was in Mo. This lady had seen us on Petfinders,
and...it was a family that lived here in
Tulsa. They had been studying about Bichons,
and had just lost their 17 year old Kitty.
I told them about these two boys, and there
was an instant attraction. You see, both
of the children in this new family, were
also adopted. This family is not new to the
concept of adoption.
A meeting was arrainged at the home of our
lawyer, Angela, and when all of the parties
were there, today, we could feel the love
in the room. The love for the lady whose
son has been hospitalized with these severe
allergies. The love that she had for her
Bichon Babies...and the instant and immediate
love from the children, in the new family,
towards these two precious fluffs. They wrestled
and played with the kids..it was a match
made in heaven.(I am being litteral here...)
And when it was time for the new family to
head off to their home, Chimmy and Choco
jumped right up in the van, with them, like
they had lived with them forever.
It was a poignant meeting, but I am so thankful,
that Small Paws® was here to help this very
nice, lady...whose heart is breaking tonight.
There is no question in my mind, that this
lady loves these boys, as much as any of
love our fluffs.
This was one of the days in rescue..where
you cry..and yet you smile. A
wonderful match
was made today..I think it was
another of
those God things...Love,Robin

Just one more goodbye....
.
