Six week old "Buttons" is a Bichon-Poodle mix darling puppy from a
commercial kennel. She has a grade 6 heart murmur and is becoming ill from it.
We need to help her or she will die.
This will be our 28th Heart Murmur
patient.
We have done this life
saving surgery 27 times before.

Reunion Page
When we lost MIKEY in New
York, after attempting the coil technique there, I promised myself that with
all other heart murmur Bichons, I would just fly them down to Texas A&M
where we have had success after success.
Can you turn on
your heart light once more for little Buttons? Her surgery will run right at
$2000.00 in order to save her life.
This is how to use your major credit
card.

donated by Bob and Patty Shearer! Buttons is coming to Houston tomorrow evening
and will arrive at Texas A&M bright and early on Wednesday Morning
early!
From the all breed rescuer who first saved Baby Buttons. She
placed this on her website.
"There are times when I feel such joy in my
heart when I see people who band together for a life...Buttons will be saved thx
to Small Paws Rescue
..I
sent them a plea and they have been working so hard to get her to Texas A.M. to
have her much needed surgery. Personally I would like to thank Robin founder of
Small Paws for her support in saving Buttons life. Also Patty for paying all the
air-fare and for calling me on setting things up so we could get her there
quickly. To my sis Lisa who will take off two days of work to make sure she gets
to safety and fly with her to Texas. To Jan the best foster in the world who
will drop everything to help me get her to the airport. Also to Sharon who took
this baby and fostered it and kept it safe till she came to me.And to the people
who offered to donate and who said prayers for this sweet angel. These special
People are Renee, Cathy,and,Patricia..and to any others I may have forgotten.
May God bless you all for you kindness.Your offer of support gave me hope and
your prayers made a difference. I will keep all updated and please continue your
prayers. Love Deb and
Buttons

Buttons and Lisa arrive in
Houston on Tuesday night, from Milwaukee,
WI.!
More later from Texas A&M University.
UPDATE Oct 19,
2005
Baby
Buttons at Texas A&M
University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Baby Buttons charms the
vet students.
She already has them
wrapped around her little...paw.
Baby Buttons does have a
grade 5-6 heart murmur. Now the good news is that it IS a PDA and it IS
operable!
The murmur is too large for them to do the less invasive coil
technique, so they are going to have to do the "crack the chest" open surgery in
the morning.
They said it was good that we rushed, because next week may
have been to late for her.
They are giving her lasix tonight, before her
surgery, to get some of the congestion down. She is
coughing.

She made it! The surgery went perfectly and she is in
recovery now!! Thank you God and thank you Small
Paws!
Turn on Your Heartlight
By Neil Diamond
Come back again
I
want you to stay next time
Cause sometimes the world ain't kind
When
people get lost like you and me
I just made a friend
A friend is
someone you need
But now that he has to go away
I still feel the words
that he might say
Turn on your heartlight
Let it shine wherever you
go
Let it make a happy glow
For all the world to see
Turn on your
heartlight
In the middle of a young boy's dream
Don't wake up too
soon
Gonna take a ride across the moon
You and me
He's lookin' for
a home
Cause everyone needs a place
A home's the most excellent place of
all
And I'll be right here if you should call me
Turn on your
heartlight
Let it shine wherever you go
Let it make a happy glow
For
all the world to see
Turn on your heartlight
In the middle of a young
boy's dream
Don't wake up too soon
Gonna take a ride across the
moon
You and me
Turn on your heartlight now
Turn on your heartlight
