In Memorium: A Tribute to Little Casper

7/04/99-1/13/2000

Casper is on the left. Lucky is on the right, with the pink collar showing. Thank God, little Casper got to know love, and a home, and a Mama.

Little Casper, was killed in a tragic accident. A drunk driver, hit a car, causing the car to plow through the fence, and into the back yard, where little Casper was taking a potty break. His Mom, Lisa Herbst, one of our wonderful volunteers, (Liferoots@aol.com), heard the horrable crash, and found little Casper, already gone. Casper was killed immediately, as was the driver of the car, and the drunk 21 year old driver. We all are sending our prayers for healing.
Casper, was one of our first Puppy Mill Auction rescue babies. His little ear was deformed, from where he had had a hemtoma, and was never treated for it, while in the mill. He was a sweet baby boy.I had held him, and I loved him.
Lisa, our hearts ache for you, and find comfort in the knowledge, that Casper is blitzing with God, tonight, and for evermore. You were a wonderful Moma to that baby. God Bless you and your family, and the family of your neighbor. We love you.

A Poem From an Angel

I was such a little one, when I came to live with you...
You loved me so, and I loved you to, a love to me so new...
We played together, had so much fun, sometimes I wore you out,
But together Mom, you know we learned, what love was all about...

My name was Casper, fitting for sure, I was the cutest little boy...
With my pure white fur, and my wagging tail, I filled your life with joy...
I don't know why, my dear sweet Mom, but I had to leave that day...
God called me home, and I miss you Mom, but listen to what I say...


I know I'm not there to hug you right now, but I am living in your heart...
You will feel me there, every now and then, even though we are apart...
You may hear the patter, of little paws, running across the floor...
Just smile when you do, it will be me, to let you know how I adore...


The Mom who loved me, yes you dear Mom, you loved me oh so much...
I'll always remember, the time we spent, and your very gently touch...
I'm living in heaven, at the Rainbow Bridge, where I will wait for you...
But till then dear Mom, I'm a busy pup, as a job I have to do...


I must teach all the little ones, who never knew, the love of a Mom like you..
What it was like, so they will understand, when a person comes here who...
Also never knew love, but is coming to meet, a pup who will love them so..
Then a lonely person, and a pup will find, a new love that will grow...


So for now my dear Mom, when you think of me, please do not be sad..
Remember I love you, and I'll see you again, and I will be so glad...
When the time is right, I'll be waiting Mom, and run to your embrace..
You will pick me up, I will wiggle my tail, and put kisses on your face..
