Dear Small Pawsers,
Welcome to the newest members of our Small
Paws Rescue Online Newsletter, especially
to those of you who saw us live in New York
City, on Fox and Friends, last month!
Welcome!
If you missed our
last newsletter,
here it
is.
http://www.smallpawsrescue.org/newsletters/images/jan2810.html
As of now, our general operating account
is about -$5000.00 in the red.
The vet bills have
been up in January
and
the donations have
been down.

Angel is a six year old female who has had
various illnesses
from birth. I suspect
a
collapsing trachea
and severe allergies.
We need to take her
to the vet school
in
Athens GA. for a
consult and diagnosis.
The good news is
that we now have
the following
matching donation
challenges for the
"January
Bichon Blues"
to issue!
Is there anyone out
there who can match
one
of them? If so, the
challenger will make
a donation in that
amount. Then the
Small
Paws Bichons receive
that amount twice!
Once
from you and once
from the original
challenger!
I'm going to be hunting and pecking quickly
as the lights are already flickering here
and we are expecting power outages in Northeastern
Oklahoma. We are under a State of Emergency
due to a monstrous winter storm that has
already started. It sounds like it's raining
little hail balls here.
We have the following
matching challenges!
Thanks to all of
the challengers!
First from Jane Robinson,
at janemk@cox.net , in Scottsdale AZ. we have a matching donation
challenge for $250.00! Thank you Jane! Is
there anyone who can match her? That would
put $500.00 towards these vet bills for these
Bichons! Thank you Jane!
Next, from Sue Hodges,
our friend in Southern
California, we have
this challenge! Thank
you again, Sue!

a $100 matching challenge
in honor of Robin.
We and all of the
homeless

so blessed to have
her

never quits on any
of
us, so I say we don't
quit on her!>
And from Rosalyn
Mackie, we have a
challenge
for $100.00. Is there

And from Deborah Berger and Boris, LIVE from
NEW YORK CITY, we have this challenge! Thank
you Deborah and Boris! (Boris was one of
the Bichon TV stars from our recent visit
on Fox and Friends in NYC in December!)
Robin, interesting,
the truth of the
matter
is that what comes
to you or at you
is what
your path is at that
moment. I wish I
could
offer more please
put out a $100.00
challenge,
in honor of Norma,
my faithful pet therapy/service
dog who is turning
12 and has worked
for
10 1/2 years. She's
not doing well and
for
Oliver my rescue
cat who continues
to tolerate
my gang of 4 dogs
and is doing worse
than
Norma.
As always, thanks
for all you do.

and Boris>
And from Renee in Antioch IL, we have this

Hi Robin,
I know it's not much
but I'm issuing a
challenge
for everyone to send
in $10.00 for each
SPR
fluff that they have.
I have three so my
check for $30.00
will be on it's way.
Poor
Angel and Miles look
so sweet--I wish
I could
do more. Come on
everyone, give up
your Latte's
or McDonalds or whatever
for a few days and
let's help these
babies!

Hi Steph and Robin:
Still not sure if
my job of 17 yrs
will be
here in Sept., but
at least they included
me in the first budget
which is due to be
slashed at least
2-3 more times.
Please issue a $35
matching challenge.

This is how to help!
If you don't hear from
me right away, please
don't worry! We have
a geberator. It's
what Spunky the Monkey
calls the generator.
He thinks it is evil
and must be destroyed,
so we hope we don't
have to use it!
Thank you all for
your personal notes
of
encouragement! I
love you. Robin
Last Monday night we paid vet bills totalling
$11,430.31 for the SPR rescued Bichons across
the country.
We've paid $30, 441.31 in vet bills for the first 25
days of January, 2010 which is an average
of $1, 217.65 a day.

I also would greatly appreciate prayers for
my friend Jim from Nashville's dog Shelby.
He had a tumor 3/4 the size of a soccer ball
removed from his spleen Monday and the pathology
reports are due back soon. AND the lovely
Basenji mix, Obie, who was homeless in Obidos,
Portugal whom I managed almost 11 yrs ago
to have found and sent to live with my ex
in rural IL. as he is fighting a tick borne
illness and kidney and liver problems. ALL
PRAYERS most gratefully appreciated.

Always remember, God loves YOU more than
anyone else ever
has and more than
anyone
else ever will!
Will God let us have our beloved pet's in
heaven?
For those broken of heart:
"It came to
me that every time
I lose
a dog they take a
piece of my heart
with
them. And every new
dog who comes into
my
life gifts me with
a piece of their
heart.
If I live long enough,
all the components
of my heart will
be dog, and I will
become
as generous and loving
as they are."

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006
When I first saw this beautiful picture of
Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey",
I thought it was
truly the epitome
of what we do, and
why
we do it. I wanted
to use this black
and
white picture of
Humphrey, taken only
days
before his death
due to congestive
heart
failure, to let those
who may be new to
Small
Paws, know what we
do and why we do
it. Without
Small Paws, Humphrey
would have never
known
love. He would have
died in a kill shelter,
sick and alone. Because
of Small Paws, and
Cheri Sisco, he lived,
he loved, and he
smiled.
