As you know, when we were notified by a shelter that a precious little Bichon has been attacked by something. His owner waited three days to bring him into the shelter, yesterday, and it sounds like he was just almost dead.

Magnum was attacked by something or someone. This picture of him was taken by the shelter, when he was still at the shelter.
He is now at our vet's office in the Dallas Ft, Worth area.

Read more about his case, below. He still needs help urgently.

He has thankfully, made it through the night, and Small Pawser Mary Herman, is going to go visit him and get more pictures of him, tonight.

Subject: UPDATE on injured dog

Just talked to Dr. Lott. The dog is VERY weak and not trying to walk or eat. He has a very bad abscess on his right front leg and a 8" diameter open wound on his right hind leg. You can see the muscle and tissue. He may lose the leg. They will take x-rays later tonight. He may never regain control of his hind legs or bowels, but it's too early to tell.
The shelter is definitely pursuing cruelty charges against the owner.

Hi Robin,

Take care of yourself,
Rosemary>

And from the Villages in Florida, we have this challenge for $50.00. Thank you Lynne!

Robin,

I hope you feel better soon, it must be so frustrating for you to feel so ill and still be trying to save all these dogs.

Please issue a $50 matching challenge for Magnum from my dog Annie; I cannot believe that anyone would have left him for 3 days in this condition and it breaks my heart that people can treat a dog like this and make them suffer. Hopefully people will respond and we can raise the funds to save him.

And for the Ohio 5, we have this challenge from Claire.Thank you Claire, so very much.

Hi Susan,

I'd like to put out a challenge for our 5 sweetest little ones. Tatter and Junie feel that since Ms Robin is so sick she can't talk, then it's up to us to talk for her. So $25.00 ea. from my two and that also includes loads of prayers and teaspoons of honey for the throat.

May this $50.00 be put to good use. Actually this works out to $1.00 an inch in snow for we here in Maryland. Soooo anyone that has 25,00 or more, at $1.00 an inch? per dog in the family or am I pushing it. LOL

We need to do this, and we all know we need to do this.

Blessings from
Claire, Tatter Tot and Junie>

And from Terri Halligen for the Ohio 5 we have this challenge. Thank you Terri! Terri will match up to five $50.00 donations. Is anyone there?

Hi Robin,
I sure hope you are feeling better soon. I'd like to issue a challenge to any one who has adopted a puppy mill Bichon. My very special Luke ( aka SPR Saunders) has been with us almost 3 1/2 years. He is still making progress but I doubt he'll ever get completely over his first 3 years, but he sure loves his mommy.
As a matter of fact I'll match four $50 donations.

I'll also match a $50 donation for Flopsy who looks so much like my heart dog Pooh who now resides at the Rainbow Bridge.

God Bless You, Terri Halligan .

We will have later news on Magnum's condition later on today. Thanks to everyone who can help us to help him. All My Love, Robin

Hi.
We need your prayers, my little brother Jerry just found out he has cancer, but the docs don't know what kind. Any prayers for strength, healing, and God's grace for him would be so much appreciated.

Will God let us have our beloved pet's in heaven?

For those broken of heart:
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

Humphrey Sisco
Dec 26, 1993~ Aug 30, 2006

When I first saw this beautiful picture of Cheri Sisco's "Humphrey", I thought it was truly the epitome of what we do, and why we do it. I wanted to use this black and white picture of Humphrey, taken only days before his death due to congestive heart failure, to let those who may be new to Small Paws, know what we do and why we do it. Without Small Paws, Humphrey would have never known love. He would have died in a kill shelter, sick and alone. Because of Small Paws, and Cheri Sisco, he lived, he loved, and he smiled.
